Same. I don't envision a rookie DT sniffing Defo's production. I don't care who it is.

Now, I have no issue with drafting a DT. I wouldn't draft one early, but if they love a guy, have at it.
Funny how this rumour leaks shortly after the CeeDee Lb interview. It's smoke screen designed to hide their intentions and possibly to drum up interest in a trade down (from a team covetting kinlaw).

Agreed. If they want to take Blacklock or someone else later in the draft, I'm good with that. But a DT @ 13 would piss me off because Buckner was a proven, durable stud.

13 imo, is either an OT to replace Joe down the line, a stud receiver (which I think is what is going to happen) or a shutdown corner.

My thoughts on JK:

Dude is a boom or bust prospect. The guy is raw as hell. Most of his production on the field is him simply kicking the guy's ass across from him by virtue of being the more athletic and talented individual. There's no go-to move or counter. He simply tries to bully the guy across from him the majority of the time. There's no doubt that this dude is insanely gifted. He's over 300 lbs but looks like a chiseled edge rusher. But he's extremely raw, plays with little technique, and rarely demonstrates a pass-rushing plan.

There's going to be a lot of pressure on the DL coach of whichever team drafts him to coach him up.

ACL injury takes him off my top 10 list - reckon he'll be there at #13, if we choose to take him.

They trade Buckner so whoever they draft (WR, OL, CB) needs to come in and play from day one. You can't trade a top player like Buckner and then draft a prospect.

We should be doing everything we can to cloud who we're targeting in the first round. I can see Kinlaw being the pick or 10 other prospects.

When did he tear his ACL? Not sure why you keep saying this? I don't think that happened

Totally agree.

His physical skill set is out of this world. That's how he's won thus far. He's just bigger/stronger/more explosive then everyone else. He's raw as hell and like you said you're asking a lot from the DL coach.

Give me Madubuike in a trade down in the 2nd or Elliot in the 3rd (met with both) vs Kinlaw at 13

I don't know exactly when - I'm trying to find out. I'll get back to you.

I think it's imporant to evaluate level of competition when judging a raw player like Kinlaw.

He was making SEC lineman look like Highschoolers.

There's a big difference in that versus Soloman Thomas beating up on a backup UCLA lineman.

I also think Madubuike isn't a 3 down player and Kinlaw is.

So Kinlaw isn't my top choice for 13 overall... but I certainly wouldn't complain about drafting him. He's in the conversation for sure.
