Yeah why not take Edge to find a partner for Bosa? Blair and DMoore are coming back from major injury. Ford is uncertain to play over 50% of snaps. Not trying to see Solly play edge.

Atlanta would need to move above Jacksonville, and potentially Carolina if they want Henderson. Both of those teams are high on him in the Top 10. Better for the Niners to see QB's slide down, as that should bring in some nice trade partners for us to add some arsenal in the mid-rounds.

Agreed. Even if Ford is healthy to start the year, we are assured he will miss time. We need speed on the edges to contain Murray and Wilson 4 times a year, at least.
Really don't see it with this guy. Why take edge high in the 1st in an all time bad edge class (not counting Chase Young). Reminds me more of Barkevious Mingo then any good NFL pass rusher he's being comped to.

DMoore is a free agent—although, I really hope we bring him back!
I'm starting to think Chaisson is the pick at 13. Bold Prediction

Yep. I see that as one of the three major needs concerning the uncertainty of Ford's knee. Maintaining the pass rush is of crucial importance because that and the run game is largely how they got to the SB in the first place. They need another edge somewhere, hopefully someone that is ready to play some major snaps. There's a few really nice ones that will be available from Rounds 1 to 4.

I'm not super psyched about Chaisson because he's not the most advanced guy in terms of pass rush skills. Top notch athleticism but he gets stuffed way too often and doesn't seem much like he knows what to do once tackles block his first move. Character is outstanding though, strong leadership ability and a guy that has been described as truly loving football, being a film nut so those qualities would definitely appeal to Shanalynch.

STRENGTHS: Outstanding edge quickness to beat tackles to the corner…immediately reaches his top speed, flashing the ability to convert that speed to power and put blockers on their heels…tall, long athlete and extends his arms into blockers while staying balanced to work off his initial attack…elusive feet/bend on stunts and loops…twitchy athlete in space with clean redirect…looks comfortable in reverse and hustles to make tackles away from the line of scrimmage…sniffs out plays with better-than-expected recognition skills…named a captain as a sophomore and described as "charismatic" and the type of guy "others want to follow," according to his coaches.

WEAKNESSES: Lean-muscled with growth potential concerns…lacks the power to easily detach from blocks once his momentum is stopped…pass rush arsenal lacks maturity, specifically his secondary moves…doesn't always replace his hands on his get-off…athletic in space, but late to see routes develop and will need some time to develop his off-ball awareness…has come a long way, but still developing his discipline (five penalties in 2019)…medicals need to come back clean, missing almost all of the 2018 season with a torn ACL in his left knee (September 2018); missed two games this past season due to a right ankle issue (September 2019)…only average career production, finishing with under 10 sacks.

I hope not. I think Gross-Matos is a better pass rusher than Chaisson and you can trade down for him.
It's NEVER a bad idea to draft more edge rushers. It's one position where you can't have too many.

Yep. Hoping we get an edge somewhere in the 1st round

This. A great pass rush can cover up for many mistakes and personnel issues on defense.

If we go that route, I'd much rather trade down and draft AJ Epenesa.

We need a speed rusher opposite Bosa, the way Ford brings the speed to the D from the edge. Epenesa is strong and stout, but certainly not explosive. Chaisson is just 20, his body is still growing. In comparison, Danielle Hunter was 6'5 252 lbs (Chaisson is 6'3 254) coming out of LSU himself, that worked out just fine with proper coaching.
If this guy is around later in 1st yea roll the dice. Got his knee dinged already.
