Yeah, Patterson was also a physical beast. Huge, strong, and fast.
We drafted a WR at 13 in a draft this deep. Deebo would go in the third round in this draft. I hope Shanny finds his guy at 31 or in a trade back.

Don't know about the builds, and Patterson was a better athlete. I'm going off the splash plays and reference of how much of a beast they were when they got the ball in their hands. Turns out Patterson was not much of a natural wide receiver which I actually noticed when watching highlights etc.

I see some similar nuances with Lamb. I see a lot of screens and crosses, where no coverage is within 10 yards of him?! Big 12 I guess. One or two catches where he jumps over someone while coming back to an under thrown ball, and him slowly moving downfield in slow motion and doing the same side cut and spin over and over. His blockers are out running him down the field.

I relate him to Patterson from a hype and potential to overdraft someone who is a good athlete but needs time to adjust to the nfl game. No free releases or rounded cross routes. He'll being getting real coverage from someone who is a better athlete than him. Just not the top receiver in this class. All I'm saying.

I'm not even that opinionated on him, I'm just frustrated with folks hyping him up like he is the next Calvin Johnson. Gimme a break.

He is not Hopkins either

Naw, Deebo would have went second round. I would have him slotted maybe right after Mims.

Brilliant college career on offense and special teams in college in the SEC. Best thing smoking at the senior bowl with routes and seperation.

If Simmons is on the board and we don't take him.

Generational talent that you build a defense around. We can grab a WR at #31

I want players who can help this team in 2020, ideally we come away with a WR, DT, OL

Obviously we aren't taking QB or RB in the first but we could definitely use and upgrade at LB or Safety. A true ball hawk like Winfield (in the second) would totally change our defense. If Simmons or Young slide we should go get them. We'd be the #1 defense in the league for years.
I wouldn't be 'furious' if the Niners took a receiver at 13, but I'd rather see them trade back a couple of places and still be able to take Javon Kinlaw. They'd get a quality year one starter with physical traits almost just like Buckner, but at a tenth the cap hit. And there would still be great receivers available later.

This is hilarious coming from someone who likes Higgins. Lamb produced against everyone he played which includes putting up over 100 yards against Alabama and LSU. He got plenty of separation against LSU and they have some pretty good corners. Hurts missed him on a number of plays or the ball got batted at the line of scrimmage. Lamb also dropped a 45 yard pass at 3:38. He could have easily had 150-200 yards in this game.

Meanwhile, Higgins has put up a 100 yard game against a top 25 opponent once in his career despite playing with Trevor Lawrence. And no one is hyping Lamb like he's the next Calvin Johnson - he may be the best WR in a deep class but none of the WRs in this class are worth a top 10 pick.
I really want a WR with our first pick... but I can see when it is time for our pick we could see some possible choices being Ruggs, Kinlaw, and Thomas. If that is the case, I would be happy with any of them..

1. Ruggs. WR
2. Kinlaw. DT
3. Thomas OT

So I guess I would be furious if we don't take a WR and it is some other position, or player other than these ones.

1) Higgins sat down at half time in about 40 percent of their games. Yeah, his stats are not inflated at all. But he is clutch

2) I don't hate Lamb. I've been destroying him because everyone placing him with the niner pick. I just don't like him at the top of the draft, I was proposing trading down and accepting Higgins as an option after a trade down

Higgins looks slow and doenst get good sepration nor is he physical to be that big. I think he has a high probability of being a bust compared to the other guys. He might not be but...
Another f**king punter

Sucked as a route runner, wasn't a natural hands catcher, he was talked up more for his physical traits than his skills as a receiver. Same with Justin Hunter that year as well. Those two Tenn guys were dominant athletic freaks in college but largely bombed in the NFL and I say largely because Patterson has been a reliable threat as a returner, has just never gotten it together as a WR.

Hoddie showed that Patterson is actually a tall RB.
