I'm not either. They need to pick DT. Buckner is a huge loss. Or OT to replace Staley down the road. I don't think WR is our biggest need. It's a luxury we would like to have. I don't think it is at all the biggest need at #13 overall.

So who is starting across from Deebo at WR?

Yeah that is a problem. But so is the hole Buckner leaves. Armstead won't be nearly as good without him. Also Staley is getting older and needs a long term replacement. If WR is the best available I guess it's OK. But I don't think it's the biggest need. And it better be a really good one. Like one of the best ones in the whole draft if we do that.

OT is not a bigger need than WR or DT though.

And how big of a need DT in this class for this team largely depends on how they feel about Solly, Taylor, Street and Givens. If the GM and HC thinks they have an answer already on the roster then WR will be a bigger need and focus on draft day.

Rapoport just reported we were pursuing Suh so that's kind of a hint.

I have said this from the start At 13, anything other than a WR or OL is a mistake. And as far as the bolded goes, I will lose my mind if that is the pick. Makes zero sense.

IF the best player available is a DT, give me the 2nd best player available and call it a day. Thanks.

OT Tristan Wirfs, Iowa
OC Cesar Ruiz, Michigan

I wants Ruggs and his 4.28, but if I can get the above as a consolation prize I could learn to live with it awfully fast.

Barring anymore trades, this would basically means the Niners first chance to upgrade the WR in the draft would be the 5th round

I never wrote that I wanted that outcome lol.
The fact that this is a deep WR draft will cause one of either Juedy, Lamb or Ruggs to fall in our laps. Teams drafting earlier have many more holes to fill and will be more likely to take a need other than WR early. Its hard to say no to one of these guys when you think of what Shanahan could do with another weapon. You have to ask yourself where the bigger drop off in talent is?

Option A - Juedy/Ruggs/Lamp at 13, Ruiz, Jones, Epenesa at 31

Option B- Kinlaw/Brown/Wirfs at 13, Mims, Reagor, Aiyuk at 31

I'll take A all day.
BECTON over any WR if all are available w/the 13th spot..

31st - This is where we go BPA.. .
Just reading some writers out there. It seems like there are several teams with WR needs picking ahead of us. In particular, the Raiders, Jets and Jags. So, there is some possibility that non of the top 3 receivers will be available at 13.

.. and don't count out the Cards, I can see their HC feeling that offense up with another WR who's pretty similar to HOPKINS in Lamb..

I wouldn't be mad with Kinlaw at all. And if we get a good Tackle at 31 I won't be mad either. build from inside out. Good chance that 3 years from now the best WR won't even be one of the guys folks are in love with. gonna be a 2nd or 3rd round guy

I wouldn't be mad if we got 2 quality starters at 13 & 31.

I think we need an impact WR and a VERY good Tackle.
I am down for trading back from 13, and trying to get more picks in rounds 2-4. It all depends on who is still on the board, and where Lynch has players on his big board. Hopefully we can slide back a few spots from 13, while adding one or two of our 5-7 round picks, and get our first pick around 16-17, while adding a 3rd and 4th round pick. Then at 16-17, I am sure one or two of the key WR's would be there, and then I would look to draft one.

With our 31st pick, I would hope Ruiz is there and I would take him immediately. Ruiz can battle Brunskill for the starting RG spot, and if he loses, he would be the main back up at all 3 interior O line spots alongside Garland. Ruiz also allows us to cut Compton and his 3 million salary. Ruiz very well might be Richburgs replacement after the 2021 season, because then Richburg can be cut and not take a huge cap hit. So Ruiz is a back up year 1, then probably starts at RG year 2 because Brunskill moves to either LT or RT with Staley retiring, and then year 3 Ruiz can slide into Center with Richburg hopefully leaving, but if Richburg bounces back, then we can just keep Ruiz at RG, or potentially move him to LG if Tomlinson declines.
Well some didn't think Niners would draft Bosa so there's that.
