We built our team that the strength was our DL and their ability to get to the QB. When the games are called by the rules we're able to dominate. In the SB the refs basically acting like holding wasn't a thing. That means your biggest asset as a team is essentially handicapped.
So do you keep building your team to be all about the DL or do you see what happened and ensure that you still have a strong unit that can rush the passer but can also take advantage of a game where holding isn't called?
That's why I like Ruggs for us. IMO our DL is still a strength without Buckner. Kinlaw is a very good player but our DL can still rush the passer with Bosa, Ford, Armstead and X.
By making ourselves more well rounded and less top heavy at one unit I think we make us more prepared to win in different ways.
I agree with all of this. The SB really opened my eyes. And yeah, I do believe that draft strategy needs to be altered depending on the landscape of the rules and officiating.
Armstead complaining about his much Seattle holds too. They are getting sick and tired of it. It's a massive unfair advantage.
