No. I think NFL teams want it delayed in the hopes the bans on group meetings can be lifted so they can get their face to face meetings but for all we know it may not happen for a lot longer. Then we don't get the excitement of the draft, these young guys don't get a playbook and what teams want may not even happen before the season.
This way at least we get the guys drafted so they can start working on prep with their teams for whenever it happens.
Yes there is risk involved and some teams who have drafted well may walk away with some bad mistakes this year but it is what it is.

I don't think it's about the fan audience. I couldn't care less and actually would like to see a draft like the old ones (check the 1983 NFL Draft posted on YouTube).
I'm more so thinking about teams and their player evaluations. If the 32 teams are in agreement about giving the green light, then go ahead and do it.

btw the ratings will be insane. Fans are dying(no pun) for sports content.

The fact that sports is completely dead right now would only give them more coverage and viewership of the event,...so long as people can stay 6 feet apart and have those 45-minute tests on hand.
There is not a need for sumo matches in order to have a draft,...so I don't think it gets canceled.

They would. I'm talking evals. Do teams still want to work guys out? Everything else can be done remotely.

There was a time when they didn't do all these private workouts and personal interviews. They scouted games and reviewed film and made their picks based on that. I always wondered if the interviews sometimes influence a GM too much and they draft a guy because he interviews well or pass because he doesn't. Some guys aren't comfortable in a one on one situation while others can con someone by giving answers that they know the interviewer wants.

Like Tony Kornheiser said yesterday, if anything, this will separate the good GMs from the s**tty ones.
This. Also saw that teams and FO's pretty much know 95 % of what they want to know on most players. The team scouts have been watching some of these players since high school, interviewing coaches and players about prospects for years, ( game tape...ect.), and the combine was originally set up to standardize the medical evaluations, ( test procedures and such ) so all the teams had a viable standard. The lack of follow up medical checkups and pro day workouts doesn't help but all the teams are in that same boat as to that.
The NFL will work out the logistics and such, maybe a home self video package, ( oh wait, already got that ), or every prospect gets a box of all 32 team hats so he can put it on for the camera. I for one ain't gonna miss seeing the Commish getting hugged or whatevered...unfortunately we might have to put up with seeing even more of Count Mockula, ( Kiper )...
oh well. The league has got a meeting on April 8 where their gonna revaluate the situation....I think they keep it as planned
