Drafting a TE?

The 49ers have had video interviews with a number of them, including Washington's Hunter Bryant and UCLA's Devin Asiasi. They also met at the NFL Scouting Combine with a later-round option, Virginia Tech's Dalton Keene, who can line up at multiple spots, including fullback.

Devin Asiasi is an interesting prospect on day 3 wouldn't be upset at all
They have to take some pressure off Kittle, need a good blocking TE who can mix it up in the passing game too

I'd like a prospect that comes in ready to run block. If Kittle goes down, other receiving options can step up to help fill the void in the passing game. The inline TE cannot be a subpar run blocker in this offense.

I was sad to see Toilolo go. He really knew this system well and was a big reason for our running success.
Seeing as we were rumored to be pursuing the best TE's in FA i'd say us drafting a TE is a strong possibility.

Hunter Bryant is definitely more of a joker. Ebron/Reed type oversized slot. Not sure he's better than what Hurd could be for us.

I really think there's guys in the day 3 range like Harrison Bryant, Deguara, Pinkney, Asiasi, and even OK that could be starters in the league and great #2 TE's

Harrison Bryant is a favorite of mines. I can see a little Kittle in him.
Dalton Keene from Virginia Tech is an interesting TE as well (who we met with).

You can line him up all over the place. He's a great athlete who can block. Great character football IQ.

He's got YAC ability

Good blocker

This is definitely a 9ers type of pick

Him or Asiasi make a ton of sense in the the 5th
The more I looked into Keene,it screamed a 49er pick. I'm glad to find out they met with him now. It will be a good 5th round pick.
Kittle and him will be quite the pair of TE's.

I am very intrigued by Keene. Solid value pick with upside.

NFL Comparison
George Kittle

Overview
Bryant's plus athletic traits, high football IQ and toughness as a blocker make him one of the most talented, well-rounded tight ends in this draft. He's a little light to be considered for full-time work as a "Y" tight end, but his technique and tenacity should not be discounted in his ability to help the running game. He's instinctive in space with speed and separation talent to work all three levels and gives offensive coordinators the freedom to line him up all over the field.

Much prefer Cole Kmet. He's my sleeper at #31.
