Couple of thoughts:

If the 49ers draft one of these tackles with the intention of them playing guard for a year, if said player ends up excelling (think Quenton Nelson or Zack Martin), leave him there. Meaning the 49ers will still need a LT of the future to succeed Staley.

If the idea is to address RG through the draft, draft a guard!

People get way caught up with said player needing to make an impact right away. If the 49ers use a #1 on a tackle, with the way they run the ball, chances are said player will end up playing soon enough. [injuries]

The team does return 19 of 22 who started the Super Bowl. [and that doesn't even include Richburg or DJ Jones]

It's all guessing at this point, but Matt Miller's sources saying WR @13 and trade down from 31 makes the most sense.

He's an elite tackle prospect. Why are you comparing him to a center?

Because they are talking about him playing guard. Which a center could do also.

A center is not replacing Staley though which is the ultimate value of drafting a top tackle prospect.

You can usually get the best guards in any draft much later then #13, if that happened it would be epic fail in my mind.
There are no Nelson's in this draft, he was one of the highest rated guards in a long time if not ever.

True, but I'm just looking at value and if we don't know how long Staley is playing, we have the original Staley replacement in McGlinch one he roster? If I can get an elite skill player or trade down a bit for more capital, I would rather have Ruiz 'play guard', learn to make the line calls and dominate and be the interior force we need. The 'Interior Line' was where we got exploited last year and ultimately put way too much pressure on Garoppolo.

Just a few snippets I have seen, Ruiz looks straight DOMINATE .

Want to keep the same group that cost us the SB.

The receivers were open to sakt the game away. 3 batted balls at the LOS cost us offensively. And well, I'm sure you're well aware of what coat us defensively.

That 13th pick WR is not going to tip the scale past what we had last year.

If we stay put all the way around and select a WR at 13 we will field a worse team this year than last. That is a fact.

Correction, the 9ers didn't have Richburgh in the Super Bowl. Btw. And you're not gonna say OL and CB are major needs off of one game right. So many things factored in why the 9ers lost that game and it's not because of just OL and CB need either. But again lets overlook the fact that the 49ers group of WR's they have now have loss key players, two are coming off of IR and no guarantees they start the season and make it to the 53. Let's also not forget about that weirdo Dante Pettis who's always in Shanahan's doghouse. OL and CB can be addressed later with a trade down at #31 and probably a trade down again.

Lynch hasn't drafted a C or G in his 3 drafts
No SF in there

Giants, Jaguars, Browns, Jets, and Dolphins.

Dolphins are interesting because they probably won't pick him at 6 but have plenty of ammo to trade up from 18. Seems like there's a decent shot he goes in the 9-11 range when those other teams are picking.

Good news for us if the Dolphins are interested because they may try to jump the Bucs if he's still on the board at 13.

Yup, If all the WRs are gone I'd take the 70th pick to move to 18

Hey, you were the QW guy last year. Yes? 😉

I was also the Mike McGlinchey, Solomon Thomas and DeForest Buckner guy.

Respect fans that put themselves out there. Nothing wrong with that!

In 1985. G's and C's go all over the first round now every draft. Whether they're great or not or "worth" going there is another topic. Watch were Ruiz goes this year. Fans here were mocking him from 31 to 50. LOL

But yeah, Nelson was an absolutely generational player.

But they have a huge hole at RG potentially and Staley is about to retire. It takes a while to develop core OL unless you're Mike McGlinchey and you've been in a pro style offense and trained by a professional OL coach.

But one could argue CB is just as big of a need if not more, IMHO.

I agree OL and CB are our 2 biggest needs. it comes down to what is harder to find? For me it's generally OL.

Staley
Tomlinson
Richburg
Garland
Brunskill
McGlinchey

Sherman
Mosley
K'Waun Williams
Ward
Tartt

Vs.

Deebo
Goodwin
Bourne
Pettis
James
Hurd IR
Taylor twice on IR

Yet OL and CB are the two biggest needs. Those two groups hardly changed from the Super Bowl only Mike Person has left.

Unbelievable!!!

Outside of Deebo, that WR group is completely underwhelming. Either injury concerns or simply very average (Bourne), or stinks (Pettis).

It is until you factor in Kittle is our #1, Deebo #2. Then Kyle tends to distribute along X (a need), SWR (variety) and RB's.

I was just refering the WRs, but having Kittle doesn't preclude them from adding another legit receiving threat. I'm not sure they are ready to bank 100% on Hurd being the impact player they envisioned. No one else in that WR group scares any DC. I think WR at 13 gives them the legit chance to solidify the offense. I mean the cards brought in Hopkins even though the used drafted 3 WR in last 2 drafts. I just think Deebo/Ruggs/Kittle, sprinkle in Mostert and hopefully Hurd is a freaking nightmare to defend.

Fair. It would certainly be nice to lower the load for Kittle. Julio Jones had to block in Kyle's OZ too and that certainly didn't inhibit Kyle from overusing him. Maybe that's something Kyle has learned from Atlanta.

They've built the interior line with FA castoffs and that's one reason it's the weak link in our pass offense.

Tomlinson was the 28th pick in the draft. Dude played only 2 yrs on a s**tty Lions team. He's been more than serviceable. IMO he's a starter on like 70% of the teams in the NFL.

Center was far from a cast off. They made Richburg one of the highest paid centers in the NFL. He was playing at a high level this yr before his injury. Only position that's been a true cast off is RG, which should be upgraded.
