So no center no guard, pass.
They also need an eventual long-term replacement for Staley. If you have a shot at an elite tackle prospect that could start at tackle for a decade and could play guard in the interim until Staley retires, thats not something to be overlooked.

No fighting
Just saying imo it's highly doubtful one of the top 4 OTs fall to us and I won't be shocked if a team like TB moves up to take whomever is left.
You're right. But I'm not going to tell him that.
Wait...
It's the truth though. There's simply more teams that need OTs ahead of us vs WR and someone like TB is in the market for a starting OT. It will be interesting to see where Trent Williams gets traded to, that could mix things up.

How bout we draft an elite g/c prospect this year? Worry about joe next year. He will still be top 10 pass pro.

Yeah, it's a tough call. If we had immediate needs at both positions, I'd want a top LT all day over any of the WRs in this draft. With Staley playing at least this year and probably next (guessing he'll play out his contract), it's a tougher call, especially given we're one of the best teams in the league now and may not be in 4-5 years (championship windows are short).

Find me an elite g/c prospect and lets talk about it. Because there are none.

This would be tremendous value at 13.

This. All day, every day. If the Niners had a guy like Thomas available at 13 and took him, I'd have zero issues with that.

Ruiz is a fine prospect, he's not really elite anything, he's the best of a relatively weak crop of interior linemen. Thomas is an elite tackle prospect.

What would your big board order look like for Jeudy, Ruggs, and Thomas at 13?

Something about these Georgia offensive lineman. Loved Isaiah Wynn coming out.
Just the pad level and their ability to switch hands to the correct hand placement is outstanding.
Idk if we can assume he will play guard though. I'm all for drafting him at 13 if he's okay with that. Best offensive lineman and still add a game changing playmaker in Aiyuk, Reagor, Mims, or a hybrid in Gibson.

The answer is Sam Pittman. Until getting the head coach job at Arkansas he's been the oline coach at Georgia the last few years. He's one of the more elite oline coaches in college football.

Agree...he's somehow gotten lost in the glut of OT's in this draft. He may not be as athletic as some others, but he's in the mold of Staley, & the Browns' Joe Thomas. Solid as a rock, does everything well and seems to have the kind of character Lynch & Shanahan have built throughout their roster. He'd be a great pick at #13.

Whats the point if he doesnt play guard? Is there any tape at all on him at guard? You think his agent would ever let that happen? Sure son. Sign this contract and throw away 12m per year after your rookie deal.
Yea hell get a lot of clients like that.
Maybe if number 14 15 16 are desperate for a lt and will cough up a 2nd or 3rd to swap picks we do that. Thats the only way thomas is helping us.

That´s what I´m saying since we have the 13th pick. It´s the year to draft a tackle. This is the best class in years.
That´s why I don´t want a trade up. Just take the top talent that falls whether it´s a WR or an OT.
