Justin Madubuike DT Texas A&M

When I put Justin in my St Patricks Day mock, there hadn't been any reports that we had spoken with him yet, but I knew we would talk with him. He's too perfect of a fit in this scheme. Athletic enough to even be moved to DE in some pass rush situations, he could be a prime target if some team doesn't go and snatch him before the second round based on that potential. If we keep 31, that could even be us.

I've been saying he really is a perfect fit for this defense...he's a much better trade down candidate at 31 vs being a top 31 pick though. Imo that's a reach.
Just looking at his snaps by alignment from last yr

A-gap 75
B-gap 435
Over the TKL 23
Outside the TKL 42

He lined up all over the place...you know lynch likes that.

I think at 31, you can create a tier of guys that you are thrilled with taking at 45 or so. There's a chunk of DT and CBs that would be good fits and good values there. Madubuike being one of those guys. And if you make the move, you are picking up something around the 75th pick as well, to address another need. Not saying that is the only way to go, Really depends on what we do at 13, and what guys are on the board at 31. But if you targets disappeared and no one slid back at 31 and you are going to overreach on someone, could be a good time to slide back and really stay within the same tier of prospects.

Off topic, but can you please post or PM Arik Armstead snap count by alignment this past season?

I don't have those #s this was from PFF draft guide. I think you need the elite vision to get that info for NFL players.
I think he has a good shot at being a 1st round pick. Fits exactly what this scheme demands from a 3T. Almost unreal next level quickness and explosiveness at the snap. I'd be far more a fan of taking Madubuike at #31 than taking Kinlaw at #13.

It sounds crazy to compare him to someone of that stature but that's really one of the best comparisons I've seen. Really unique body type, power, speed, motor and plays with tremendous leverage.

J.Mad before 9moon gets to it
Kyle Crabbs of TDN just finished his 2020 Draft prospectus (recommend checking it out if you have premium)

He actually has Madubuike rated HIGHER than Kinlaw his NFL comp is Geno Atkins. I'm telling ya this kid could a monster in this defense.

welp, you're not alone on that! I really don't want to spend a top 50 pick on DT BUT if we move down and get some extra picks I got no problem getting him.
