2020 draft rumors

This. Its already too long the way it is. Rounds 4 to 7 are pretty much background noise. If they did one round a night then I'd be doing something else the last four nights.

Looks like the old trusty site nfldraftscout.com (before NFL.com started doing ratings) has migrated to draftscout.com.

http://www.draftscout.com/players.php?GenPos=QB&DraftYear=2020&sortorder=TSXPos&order=ASC

Also looks like they went away from the # rankings they traditionally did, and now assign letter grades. Either that, or you need a paying subscription to add them.

Those dudes are all over at The Athletic or Lindy's Sports now.

As Tim Kawakami would say, "shill!"
I'm just waiting to see if Matt Maiocco mocks CeeDee Lamb to the 49ers. Chris Simms(Kyle's BFF) and Peter Schrager(works for the 49ers at times and is friends with Jed York) have been vocal about CeeDee being the top WR in the draft. Just those two is already a huge clue that the 49ers may love Lamb. Maiocco seals the deal.

I"m predicting Lamb is the pick at #13.

Tell Kittle that rounds 4-7 are meh lol. Honestly, the more content the better for me.

I think alit of that has to do with coverage and how the NFL does their stupid pick announcements.

They only get 5 minutes in between picks and takes them 8 minutes to bring people on stage to introduce picks. Gets everything so far behind and it adds nothing for the fans at home.

I'm kind of liking the social distancing thing for the draft myself. Now there wont be endless people marching across the stage announcing picks. Should be back to the good old pick is in and on to the next one.

Lamb has the chops
I actually think the Niners should trade down from both number one picks.

This draft is very deep at a number of positions. The Niners could actually find a number one WR in the second round this year. There are 16 WRs rated "A+" or "A" according to Draft Scout. Getting one of the top 3 would be nice but when one considers the recent track record of WRs drafted in the first round and the other needs the team has (L OT, OG, CB, DT, Edge rusher, and backup TE just to name a few), taking a wide-out in the first round is a luxury the team cannot afford.

With that 13th pick, the Niners could conceivably get 3-4 picks in the top 4 rounds out of it,, fill a number of needs with those choices, and then the Buck trade starts to look pretty good. If they trade out of both picks, you are talking 5-6 picks in the first 4 rounds...and again, this is a deep draft. If the team plays its cards right, they could really stock up.

Cheers!

I agree but there's a real possibility some team screws up a trade because of this. Some teams have screwed it up with everyone in the war room.

I agree with this strategy depending on the available trades. If the team could pick up a 2 and 3 to move back from 13 to a spot in the late teens or early 20s, plus an extra 3 or 4 (plus the 2) to move off 31, we would end up with 1, 2, 2, 3, 3/4, 5, 5, 6, 7, 7. This front office has done a good job over the last couple drafts picking up talent outside of the first round. From what the "experts" say it appears this is a deep draft. The more picks we have the more opportunity we have to pick up starters/contributors.
