As we all know, last year we traded our second round pick this year to get Dee Ford. With his addition along with getting that guy named Bosa to go with Arik and Deforest, the Defense became one if not the best in the league. Our offense also benefited with a healthy Jimmy G along with the addition of Deebo and Sanders. Although losing Defo and Sanders stung quite bit, we are at our Superbowl window. There are a couple of roster spots that are in need of game-changing players like a WR/CB We can also use an upgrade in the OL and DL. Do you.. or would you.. like Lynch to sell next year's first round or second rounders to acquire a veteran player that is available like the way we did with Dee Ford? Or trade next for more ammo in this draft. I'm not suggesting we mortgage the future here. But let's say we stay put at our slots and got an OL at 13, WR at 31 and we love a certain player (DL/CB) that is starting material in the second. Give up our 1st next year? We all know this team is ready to compete deep into the playoffs and the chances of next year's pick would be in the back of the order. What Would you like us do?

ZERO reason to mortgage future. If done right we are in prime spot to keep this thing rolling.
Trading future picks (especially for a WR in a DEEP WR class) would be a major mistake. Our SB window would then only be open for a couple years as opposed for a sustained amount of time.

I would not we will be fine.
More important then more picks we just need to hit on the picks we have especially early.
It's process you'll never fill every hole every year you just chip away, make good selections and you'll be good in the long run.

That pick is also insurance against a Jimmy G injury. Imagine going 6-10 after a Jimmy G knee injury and not having that pick

The only reason you would want to move up like that and trade away next years first would be to move up back into the 1st round and grab a QB that you love so you have the option to pick up his 5th year option later on down the road.

Yeah, I agree with you all. I'm just wondering where you guys stand if a player made available for a trade. Last year, Amari Cooper, Minkah Fitzpatrick were dealt. Ramsey (for a couple of firsts) and Khalil Mack(couple of firsts)before the season started were some of the big names. This year, Defo for a first, Hopkins for a second. Who else can get dealt for picks.OBJ? As far as the draft goes, if we can't trade down and we pick up a couple of studs at 13(OT) and 31(WR) for example and for some reason Fulton or Madebuike is sliding in the second, will you give up a 5th this year and a second next year for example?Obviously would love to trade down from 13 or 31 to accumulate picks.

I'd give up a future 1st for Joey Bosa

They should keep an open mind.
For example, if Claypool were still available in early rd3 (unlikely) we could give up next years #2 or perhaps next years #2 + Dante Pettis, etc
Or if Antonio Gibson were still available in the late 3rd early 4th perhaps we give up next years #3 + #6

All the more reason to trade down from 13 to get more draft capital

No..
We figure out a way to get an OG 1st and foremost.
Trading for a TE and possibly a CB or two would be nice.
