49ers just re signed Verret and Johnson to contracts will not draft a CB/S early on guaran

Mark My words. The Niners signed Ward to a 3 year deal and Jason Verret and Dontae Johnson to 1 year deals today. This signal they no doubt will go WR and OL in round 1. This reaffirms my belief that the coach and GM know the window is open to go deep in the playoffs, getting a WR and OL from a deep draft class is a wise move.

The only defensive position the team should not look to draft is LB. I think CB should be in discussion for this draft and re-signing a guy with one knee, and a career middling CB, doesn't fill any spot besides training camp depth.
Sherman, Witherspoon, Moseley, Tartt, Williams, Johnson, Harris, and Verrett all have expiring contracts. While they will obviously bring some of these guys back, it would be wise to bring someone in now.

Also, Johnson and Verrett are only options for the back end of the roster.

True!!! why didn't we sign Darquez Dennard or Breshard Breeland ?? Nor take up the Eagles on the Rasul Douglas-Breida trade??, Or ANY other 2 veterans than these 2. !!
They're just camp bodies bro. It means nothing
Are we forgetting we have the Webzone favorite Teez Tabor on the roster?

Verret cannot be counted on at all. Feel bad for the guy but he cant check the mail without tearing something. Johnson is a depth move and is not a contributor. I dont think these signings influence the draft at all. Especially without seeing what kind of money is guaranteed. Could be cut in camp with the contract meaning nothing,

And the fact that the class is deep, is more of a reason to move back than to draft WR in the first round.

We need a WR, a CB that can play some this year and has starting potential next year, OL that can start right away, and a DT that can immediately contribute in the rotation.

lol yeah I doubt this has any impact at all on the Niners draft board or priorities. Dontae Johnson, seriously? Lol
This would be like if they signed Erik Pears or Anthony Davis, and thinking we won't draft OL as a result. While I want a certain receiver, these signings mean nothing.
