2020 NFL ENTRY DRAFT (no spoilers)

I was impressed with John Lynch this weekend and am very pleased with the additions that were made. The FO is doing a really really good job and I hope everyone realizes this and is paying attention and enjoying the ride.

DALLAS ALWAYS SEEM TO DO WELL BECAUSE THEY DRAFT PRETTY....

pretty as in, majority of the players they take are well known and it always look pretty... even the free agents they sign are known commodity, but... the end had remained UGLY thus far !!!
Dallas best move this off season was getting rid of Garrett.

What was the logic behind TB's trade up with the 49ers from #14 to #13? Were the Bucs afraid some team would trade with the 49ers into #13 to leapfrog them?

Reminds me of the CHI trade up from #3 to #2 to select Trubisky. But what made Bucs so scared that they felt the need to move up one spot?

Worried Miami might come up. They did draft a tackle at 18.

So the 49ers could have possible screwed with MIA's draft plan twice? First allowing Bucs to go to #13 to draft an OT. Then jumping ahead of MIA to grab Aiyuk at #25. At least they were cool enough to discuss Breida.

edit: nm the 49ers didn't really screw with MIA by allowing the Bucs to move up.

I'm not trying to say its easy. I think Staley retiring really hurt. Then the way the draft fell there no OT they wanted at top end of draft. I'm not sure I think maybe I would have skipped on drafting DL help early and traded down more to add picks in second and third round. Stop trade down at 25 and still draft Aiyuk because he was there highest rated WR. Trade down from 31 to add picks, then use those picks on someone like a Blacklock in the second and still have extra picks in the third for OL,DB,or LB. I know there some that can look at the draft and say take that guy and this guy. Well sure that's easy now that the draft is over. I really do not think it easy to run a draft. I would never have traded up for Aiyuk I thought he would make it to 31 but they didn't. I'm not complaining about who they drafted I like the players.
I really like the trade for Williams.
They have stayed the cores and are hoping for improvement from younger player and the return of injured players.

So you still draft Aiyuk, you still plug DT albeit with a lower tier prospect in Blacklock, and then you take mid round flyers on LB (who is beating out greenlaw, Warner, and Kwon?) and DB (it is highly unlikely any rook CB is starting over Sherm and Moseley this upcoming season). And that's assuming a trade back was even possible. Who is moving up, and for what? Eason sat on the couch for an eternity waiting to hear his name called, and it was, IIRC by the colts, which was seen as the most likely candidate to move up to 31 for a QB. You can't compare us to chiefs and ravens..they have QB on rookie deals. Our job is to offset our cap losses as best as we can, and without knowing that we passed on a majorly lucrative trade, which based on the fact that no one traded in the early second round makes it highly unlikely, id say the niners did a stand-up job

Lateral move with McCarthy IMO.

So you had ulterior motive no matter what I say you where going to pick it apart and pop pop it. You right and you like what has happen I'm wrong and have no idea what I'm talking about.
That what I take from this.
Does anybody know what Cornerback class will be like for next years draft? Niners are fine at that position for 2020(especially with the help they will get from the Dline). Maybe the Niners can then draft a corner in the 1st round of next years draft. Hopefully that class is like this years WR class.

Corner class should be decent. Similar to 2020 with 2 or 3 guys with top 15 pick potential and then a solid grouping of 2nd and 3rd round picks. The thing is, and we'll have to see how the combine measurements pan out, but most of the top guys are 6'1 and over. Even 6'2 and 6'4. Could find some players to fit our scheme.

Baddest man in that class is Derek Stingley Jr, drop off after min is pretty big, He's better than Okudah IMO.

Stingley is a true freshman. He isn't eligible for another 2 years but damn he looks like he can come out now and dominate best technique i've seen from a young cb in a long time.

You finally have a correct take. "Can't believe we took WR and DT with the first two picks. Didn't even improve. We should have took a WR and DT instead!"
