2021 OL prospects

SOME fans need to do their research instead of just looking at whomever is the top prospect at a certain group they've been hounding at getting and look at everything.

It depends on how good the top guys are and how quickly you need them to start but to your point, it sounds like the drop off from tier 1 and 2 isn't super high and the pool is incredibly deep and talented.

Thanks for this.

We need to draft two of these, and a center.

Rather spend money on a FA center (If Richburg is done) grab a IOL/OT in the mid rds. Depth is there for the three main position groups we want upgrade in OL/EDGE/DB (after of course upgrading at QB).

Would be great if we had money, but at this point, we're likely going to have to draft our way out of this hole.

plenty of money if Jimmy is gone...throw in Gould/Richburg and a Tomlinson extension you're looking at almost $60M in cap space for 2021.

Ford June-1st cut pays for Warner (and then some). Before resigning/upgrades they're gonna have around $120M in cap space in 2022.

Rookie QB resets the cap massively and allows for other positions to have higher quality talent.

Sewell is the only guy that's worth a top10 pick imo.

Yeah but I cannot imagine us going into the season with a rookie QB as a starter. They want to win and I think the fact that the backup QB has almost singlehandedly cost us a playoff berth, despite all the other injuries, it would be hard for me to believe they would bank on a rookie for next year.
If the 49ers don't take a QB in the first round and decide to take a DB, then I wouldn't mind if they went with Landon Dickerson, Alabama's center in round 2. He hurt his knee and won't play any more this year but he'll probably be fine next year. Aside form his physical play I liked the way the team rallied around him when he got hurt. That's not something you see with O linemen very often. It tells me he was really respected and a true leader. That's what the O line needs.

Who cares? If the roster is good around a rookie QB I see no reason why they can't win?

Jimmy came in and won 5 straight not knowing a single thing about this offense. Following yr played 2 in a half games. It's not like he was seasoned vet with a bunch of games under his belt.

The NFL is heading in a different direction, these young QBs can play. Look at Hurts right now. Herbert and Burrow. They're weren't close to the reason for them losing...bad coaching and or a bad roster around them.

Dickerson is a walking injury dude. I watched him at FSU and he's been hurt a ton.

How about we not spend a 2nd on a always banged up center already got one of those on the team.

I didn't know he was injured a lot at FSU. That makes a difference. Maybe he slides back and they can get him in the later rounds 5-7.

Yeah medicals are gonna be big for him.

It's a shame because the guy can maul. He apparently wasn't having any lasting issues from his previous injuries. I was just impressed by the way his teammates rallied around him like they would with a star RB or QB. A guy like that would be nice to have if they could snag him in a later round.

He looks pretty athletic and talented but his pad level sucks. Not sure he's gonna get away with that at the next level.
