Move down in the 2nd grab some extra picks and get this kid.

As a former wrestler myself, I love OL/DL with a wrestling background. There are a lot of things that carry over from wrestling to football.

But if he's really 6'3", 289 lbs at the combine there's no way he'll go in the 2nd.

I think all said an done he's gonna be pushing 300 come combine time. Richburg was like 298 at the combine (at 6'3")

I think size might drop him a little...possibly make him scheme specific. works for me
Now that they are likely going to draft a QB, it really puts the pressure on to find a quality CB and O linemen elsewhere in the draft. If the top 3 QBs are gone do they pick the best CB or O lineman and go for a QB in the 2nd?
BYU OL

Brady Christensen T 6'6 300

James Empey C 6'4 303

OL is this teams biggest need behind QB, and even a #1 pick is going to struggle if they can't protect him.

Shanahan has leaned on veteran centers in the past, but they need SIGNIFICANT upgrades at OC and RG.
A quality C is such a key component of any OL. The more I watch him play, the more I want the Niners to draft Iowa's C, Linderbaum. Assuming he declares (hopefully). Watch him play - he's #65. He's physical, blocks well in the run game, stout in pass pro, and moves very well in space & in getting to the second level. He changed positions very early in his Iowa career from DL to OL and has just kept improving & improving. I like that kind of dedication to the game, dedication to your position. I'm going to keep watching him but so far I really like what I see.

Will he be available in the 4th? After trading away their 3rd in the TW trade last year, the Niners are going to have to make a tough choice in the 2nd. Do they go CB or OG/C?

Good question. Depends on what type of talent is available when they pick in the 2nd. The way Linderbaum's been playing, he could in the 2nd or who knows, maybe sooner.

To a degree you are right but Russell Wilson has elevated Seattle for years in spite of poor Oline play. This is what a franchise QB does- they make you look better than what you are.

What his draft projection?
Alijah Vera-Tucker from USC and Josh Myers from Ohio State are 2 options asides from Humphrey and Wyatt Davis.

All over the place...top 50 prospect to day 3.

He's still learning the position (was a DL when he first got to Iowa) and he's around 290 which isn't ideal for center on most rosters...he would be an ideal IOL for this system imo.

I'd guess early 3rd round

It for this reason that I'm very open to a trade down in this draft unless Wilson is on the board which seems impossible at this point. I would love to add a late 1st, another 2nd and a 3rd or 4th rounder so we can get a CB (Horn), QB (Jones), and add to the OL with a guy like Linderbaum. This draft is going to be interesting due to lack of tape on many prospects
