The Chargers job might also open up. Herbert with a year experience and great receivers. Joey Bosa. New stadium. Not bad. Their defense sucks so they might want a defense minded coach.

If the same guy from the early 80s owned the Chargers, I'm convinced we could've somehow put together a trade package that would bring Joey Bosa here.
I'm curious if the Chargers job will open up. If they win the last two maybe not. Going up against Mahomes twice a year, and having little chance to win the division for the foreseeable future is something to consider. Although, dealing with Derek Henry twice a year isn't a treat. Joey Bosa is often out of the game, and is already expensive. SoFI feels like the Rams Stadium not the Chargers, but man is it a cool stadium. I can't believe how Levi's feels dated already.

It's just a possibility. Those 4th quarter blown leads have a way of costing coaches their job. SOFI is a fantastic stadium but it costs almost 6 times what Levi's did. I think Levi's came in at a little over $1 billion. SoFi ended up at about $6 billion.

If you are a QB needy team and have the #1 pick. Why would any team accept any offers if you can draft Lawrence?? That's the golden goose...

You're completely right. That's why it would take an insane offer to get the Jags attention

Even an insane offer isn't doing it. The same reason why a team would trade the farm for Lawrence is the same reason why the Jets and Jaguars wouldn't trade the pick. The possibility of getting a true franchise QB at the start of his career is basically priceless.

Where it'd get interesting is if the Bengals fell into the #1 spot. How tempting would it be for them to snag Lawrence for themselves while salvaging whatever they could get for Joe Burrow coming off a major knee injury. Or do they roll with Burrow and flip the pick for a potentially franchise changing windfall of draft picks?

That would be awesome in terms of pure entertainment. Honestly it would be worth a documentary.

Why would JAX hire another Pete Caroll guy?

I get it, but did Gus Bradley fail because he was a Pete Carroll guy? Brian Flores is a Bill Belichek guy and he's doing fantastic so far.

But the Dolphins didn't have an ex Pat's HC before Flores so....
Is he more likely or less likely to say I'm not playing for the Jags? I've seen it twice in my life and I'd love to see this kid say it.

The Chargers look to have the better QB by a considerable margin. Barring some sort of epic flameout by Herbert, overall they look to be better positioned to win in the near future. So much talent on that roster, they seem to be doing less with more than any other team in the NFL right now. I think a guy like Harbaugh could thrive over there. They have lots of talent on the defensive side, a stud QB, add a few upgrades to the OL and they could become a nightmare for teams to play.

Chargers should throw out whatever it takes to get Daboll.
If Jacksonville loses two more games, they have to be the hotspot for a new GM. They have so many picks in this upcoming draft, with a first rounder and multiple 2nd and 3rd rounders AFTER they draft Lawrence.
lots of people will be going to Vegas to put money on the team's playing the JAGZ !!!

Herbert is a great example of a QB that is much better than ever anticipated. He was okay in high school but very erratic. He was a 3 star recruit and went to Oregon so he could stay close to home. He was okay there but not dominant partly because of the way he was used and party because he had poor receivers for much of the time. There were questions about his desire and leadership coming out of college. Now those things are no longer in question and his accuracy has increased. If the Niners draft a QB I hope the fans give him more than one or two games before they start ripping him or crowning him. You never know when that talent will emerge.

he was going to be the first QB taken 2019 if he didn't stay for the extra year. Herbert was and is still legit
