I believe there was another report closer to the draft as well, but I'm too lazy to look it up. Remember that a lot of people assumed the 49ers were going to move AA over to Defo's spot, so it wasn't a given they were drafting an interior DL at 13.

Who knows. There were definitely signs leaking out closer to the draft that the 49ers loved Kinlaw.

But I agree with a conspiracy theory that Simms is downplaying Trey Lance for the 49ers. The top 6 QB rankings thing is just weird, and Simms goes out of his way to s**t on Lance anytime he's brought up lol.
