Yes there is.

I too heard him say it.

100% one of the reporters on ESPN mentioned as soon as trade went down

Wow, I opened it in another browser and saw it. I don't know why, but it skipped the first 30 seconds the first time I tried to watch it. The damn NFL illuminati doesn't want us to know Trey is Kyle's guy.

The conspiracy theory is falling into place.

Interesting. If they pick Trey, I bet the regret of passing on Mahomes and then losing to him in the Super Bowl will have played a role in the selection.

Chasing your lost money very rarely works out for you.

So does sticking with the same type that lost the money

Absolutely. As I've said waaaay earlier in this thread, IF Lance can put it all together, he's special and can be the best QB in the class. And I'm the biggest Wilson supporter
I liked Lance at 12.

But not sure if I like him at 3 with all those picks we gave up

Lance won't be there at 12. Someone else would've traded up for him

We knew all 2019 that the only WBs that were gonna give our defense trouble were the athletic ones. We found out vs SEA ARI BAL that no matter how good our pass rush is it won't matter vs a passer that could get outside of and make plays outside of the pocket

We learned the hard way that a pocket QB can always be beaten but a mobile QB can break a defenses fundamentals time and time again

Kyle thought he could scheme his way to a chip but we found that there are QBs that can bend a defense and break them because they can go off script and extend a defenses coverage

When we moved up we have a game breaker at QB in kind. It's likely Lance even though I like Fields better just going off the tape

Not only that. Is no big secret even as good as our D is, we always have a problem in stopping mobile QBs. And the press keeps asking Shanny over the years why does he have such an extreme bias or preference on pocket passers and against mobile QBs, it has got to a point he has run out of ways in trying to answer that question. Basically, he now knows he was wrong with his previous bias which was reflected in one of his recent interviews when he literally admitted and said the way he analyzes QBs has changed suggesting he could now be open to mobile QBs.

There is zero doubt in my mind he wants to go mobile with the QB position. I think he is chomping at the bit to come up with new play designs with the incorporation of the QB into the run game to see what kind of dynamic dimension he can add to his offense. Just look at what Josh Allen can add to the Bills' offense. There is ton of creativity he can explore there once he has a mobile QB.

I do believe he will pick Trey Lance. Fields is not totally out of the question, but not Mac Jones.

Here's what I think his absolute minimum is (after a year or two learning):

Somewhere between a more athletic Beathard and Garoppolo with legs. Why? Because Shanahan can scheme him "Jimmy passes" just like he does Jimmy. The bad thing about this is the opportunity cost.

Here's what I think his absolute maximum is:

NOT Patrick Mahomes. He is not that kind of improviser, nor does he have the same cannon. People say Mahomes a lot, but IMHO it's the wrong max comparison. The maximum possible mold for him is Steve Young. An incredibly efficient QB who can pick up first downs (and touchdowns) with his legs.

He won't ever look like Steve, the way he moves, but he could some day be the guy who rarely throws picks, who plays within the scheme, and who can kill with his legs a few plays a game.

His medium possibly ceiling, I think, is a guy who can make splash plays, but hesitates way too often due to uncertainty and indecisiveness, who doesn't get a bank busting second contract. If he stays, it will be on a prove it deal.
Trey lance obviously has an amazing highlight tape, my only concern is not only are his targets all "butt hole wide open" - Steve smith.... they are also kind of waiting for the ball to come down. There seems to be very few long balls that were hit in stride. Do the 70 yard touchdown runs make up for it? Maybe.

The open WR's is a fact, but that's not his fault. His deep ball is great, good one's have touch, great one's fall directly out of the sky into a bucket with that rainbow path. Russ Wilson, Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers have that, not sure anyone else does.

Also people correctly state that his guys are far better than their competition like Bama's. This is true, but unlike Bama's they're nowhere near on the level of their QB.

Bama's WR's adjust perfectly on Mac's deep balls, they gear down, speed up and make great catches. You could tell the difference on Mac's Pro Day without them.
