No way you sit him for two for what you gave up for him.
Maybe, but look how young he is.

I've read a few people say that while Lance is definitely a monster talent, he's not going to be ready year 1. Small school, weak competition, not much play time etc etc.
This makes sense since as of today JG is still the man and is expected to start this year. That being said It would be a miracle if he starts all 16 games so I wouldn't like tossing the rookie in there if he's not ready.
You're essentially taking someone who has the physical traits you may want, but otherwise doesn't have a ton of experience actually playing QB. I would think that may scare some teams off from selecting him that high, but I'm sure others would still take the chance. I think Lance has big bust potential.
I read that about Atlanta coveting him too and sitting him for two years behind Ryan also makes perfect sense.
In the end I am not against Lance as the potential is there and I believe with time and work Kyle can get the most of out anyone, but I would take Fields over him without a second thought.

Yeah, he doesn't need to sit a yr. that's silly. He's already running shanny concepts and doing NFL caliber stuff at the LOS pre-snap.
I like that he's worked on his throwing motion with having the yr off. His footwork and release look a lot better. This will help with accuracy. I still have Fields over him, but I get why they would love him.

Having him sit for two years defeats the purpose of having a qb starting on a rookie contract. Personally, I don't want Lance. IMO he's too much of a project. He may be great eventually, depending on where he ends up, but I hope Kyle is going for Wilson/Fields.

Lance is a fantasy, boys. Need a major trade up to get him.
People say that, but there's always a big difference to the value NFL teams place these guys rather than draft media, no one (except the Giants) Had Daniel Jones over Haskins.
I strongly believe Mac Jones goes before Trey, if they both go there will be an absolute stud available to us, I'm hoping it's Pitts, but could be one of the CB's or WR's.

Didnt Walsh give the ok to take Gio Carmazzi? Or was it Drunkenmiller? Damn, both were absolute trash
Yep. Carmazzi was mobile and had a big arm. The 'zone would've loved him.
20 years ago today, 2000 NFL draft... 49ers GM Bill Walsh is thrilled that Hofstra's Giovanni Carmazzi was still available at pick #65.

Tom Brady was taken 134 picks later.
Steve Mariucci knew right away that Carmazzi wasn't the guy. He never appeared in a regular-season game. pic.twitter.com/dlAkkQin9H

What about him is a massive project? Go look at the plays he runs...it's not a bunch of air raid spread s**t. It's behind center with NFL pro concepts. NDST runs a pro-style offense.
his PA and boots are what you want to see. It's actually crazy that he was 19 running all this....imo if he has a full yr this yr he would be in play for 2 overall.

That one of my issues with Fields is that dip in his release. There's a ton of QBs that do it but I prefer a quicker release.
who knows maybe he's been working on that and we will see it on his pro day....overall I'm down for either. I have told faith in this coaching staff to turn either guy into a star.

I didn't say "massive" project. I said too much of a project. What you said isn't wrong and I did mention he may become great in the right situation..as is the case for most players. He did play against a much lower level of competition and only had roughly 300 pass attempts his entire collegiate career.
I don't dislike Lance, just don't want him. Prefer Fields or Wilson over him and sticking to that. If we take Lance I'll trust Kyle. Honestly I think any one of these qb's would end up at least a good player with Kyle's tutelage.
