And he added the same exact concerns about Fields as Chris Simms...so much for the "Simms is lowering Fields stock his buddy Kyle" crowd

Cosell is a QB guru. If he likes Lance much more than Fields its good enough for me.

My only concern is that these traits rarely improve. Usually those are like speed and size: you either got it or you don't.

However he is so young and thrown so few passes that maybe the general mold that he will be isn't even fleshed out yet.

This is nail on head right here bro. It's what would make it such an exciting pick because combine him with Shanahans system and if he puts it altogether, guys we could be looking at a Superstar prospect, I'm telling you. He would be must see tv
The plus side i see on Trey Lance is that he is MASSIVE. He is bigger than Patrick Mahomes. He's got a CANNON for an arm and is accurate. He can run over defenders. He isn't afraid of taking a hit or giving one of his own. The downside is that he seems to think only of running first and not seeing open recievers. The next is his sample size. He only played 1 game last season because of the pandemic. He has less than 25 starts his whole collegiate career. Another thing is that the Bisons don't play anybody up there in that Mickey Mouse conference thier in. Do we REALLY believe this guy is this good?🤔

Suspicious that all the national media are gushing over him...hopefully Niners brain trust doesn't fall for it

Lol it doesn't work like that.

One thing I do know for sure Is Kyle is going to choose who he wants and won't care in the slightest what other people think of it. I Just do not get how you can give up 3 first-rounders for a QB with Lance's college resume. A guy who even the Analysts that say we are going to draft him, say that he needs to sit for at least a year. I do not know how this idea even crosses people's minds. It would be the most ballsy decision ever.

Been saying this for weeks, dude would be headline. You know how we get sick of tired of hearing about Mahomes? This kid has the potential where opposing fan bases would get sick of hearing about him
PLOT TWIST: WE DRAFTING ALL OF THEM!

Usually you aren't grading a 19 year old kid

Good.... Mac Jones can play RT when McGlinchey inevitability gets Wilson's head taken off. Same size players

The Dallas Cowboys control the national media and are trying to influence public opinion...see how they always get primetime games & rig super bowl refs

Yeah, Cosell puts in the work. I was worried about Lance because of sample size and competition level . . . so basically I'll with which ever QB1 we take at this point.
I don't think Lance has been "shooting up draft boards after his pro day" like some are saying. He was seen as QB3 for this draft right after the 2019 season, he didn't come out of nowhere. Zach Wilson shot himself up to #2 by balling out during the season. Mac Jones has been rising since the season ended more so than Lance, especially since Simms is pumping him up.

Btw, Simms gives himself WAAAYYY too much credit for his scouting prowess, mainly based on Lamar, Allen, Mahomes and Herbert.

He ranked Lamar #1, over Allen, based on his skills as a PASSER. He said, "Jackson is the only guy who there are no questions about. Maybe just his durability because of how he plays."

On Mahomes: "There's no one in this draft that I'm banging the table for like Carson Wentz. I think Mahomes is the guy that could be incredibly special, if he's in the right situation. He could be a superstar in a couple years." He then ranked him third behind Watson and Trubisky, who he thought were pretty even. So, partial credit.

He was right on Allen. Herbert was QB1 going into the 2019 season, but people got distracted by Burrow, so good on Simms for sticking by him. Funny how all the guys he claims credit for are super-high-trait guys.
