They really ought to have moved up to Division 1 a few years ago. NDSU is like a 21 year old high school sophomore that keeps getting held back because they aren't ready to stop dunking on the JV Boys teams.

THIS. They have won a crapton of titles, but not at the highest level. I ain't saying talent can't come from there, certainly, they can, I am saying they don't play anybody.

Anybody know why he chose ND State? If he had offers at SEC-type schools and turned them down it could be a red flag. There are a lot of reasons for someone to choose one college over another though.

Those teams wanted him to switch positions from qb to TE or safety

No he had no big time offers to play QB. He has D1 offers to play S/LBer coming out of HS in Minnesota...he choose NDST because he knew he could play QB and they had a D1 Pedegree on how they run their organization
So he has the same # of games played in college as Mac Jones?

Correct. Not as many passing attempts BUT 145 of Jones' attempts were at or behind the LOS this year.

So he's a Captain Checkdown...

Only he played against North Wyoming and not in the national title game. Also should be noted Mac had about 1800 more yards in those games.

While we're at it one was a Redshirt Junior who sat and completely learned the offense for a couple years and one was a Redshirt Freshman

And? You're drafting that prospect based off his redshist freshmen year at a nothing school any way you want to discuss this.

This isn't the NBA. You don't draft solely off tools and potential.

I hear where you are coming from and respect your opinion. Let me ask you this, how many of Saban's Qb's have turned out in the NFL?

John Parker Wilson
Blake Sims
Jake Coker
Greg McElroy
AJ McCarron
Jalen Hurts (book is still out)
Tua Tagavailoa (Book is still out)

I want Fields or Wilson. Mac would be okay if we stayed at 12 but he's not worth 3 1sts.

But to answer that both Bama and OSU have evolved during their tenure. They were run 1st teams not too far back. How many of those qb's threw for 4500 yards?
