I hear where you are coming from and respect your opinion. Let me ask you this, how many of Saban's Qb's have turned out in the NFL?

John Parker Wilson
Blake Sims
Jake Coker
Greg McElroy
AJ McCarron
Jalen Hurts (book is still out)
Tua Tagavailoa (Book is still out)

How many of them were first round prospects?

How many Air Raid QBs have turned out in the NFL?

How many QBs from Oregon have turned out in the NFL?

I want Fields or Wilson. Mac would be okay if we stayed at 12 but he's not worth 3 1sts.

But to answer that both Bama and OSU have evolved during their tenure. They were run 1st teams not too far back. How many of those qb's threw for 4500 yards?

AJ had some real good stats based on the amount of attempts he had.
If they're really sticking to their words and keep Jimmy G. Then Trey Lance makes the most sense.

God I hope so. If it turns out to be Mac Jones, I would be massively disappointed.

Jones is a much better athlete than AJ with a better arm and ability to read and diagnose defenses. Jones is clearly a first round talent at QB and is expected to go early in the first round. AJ was not a first round talent and he eventually fell into day 3 of the draft because he was reportedly an arrogant SOB in interview sessions.

Hot wife too. Still, a career backup.

OK, having watched the entire press conference, the only potential positive point I took out of it was when Shanny said he had to secretive when we were still drafting at #12 before trading up to #3. In other words, possible reasons why he and Lynch didn't attend Trey Lance's pro day because he had to keep things on the down low.

Seriously, it better not be Mac Jones. I want to see an even more dynamic offense with the incorporation of a mobile QB. I don't want the 9ers to be on the receiving end of mobile QBs that always give our D fits. Is time we dish it out.
I have been doing some research on Trey and it's real tough to get any sort of an opinion.

He does interview real well and comes off as a likable guy.

Does how he play remind anyone of Kapernick? He sort of throws like Kap but doesn't have as long as a wind up. I also thought his scrambling/running was a lot like Kap, including the long legs and stride. He looks like he has very high end speed, especially since he was clocked at over 21mph but his acceleration doesn't seem all that great like Kaps. I think that part would make sense too because he is supposedly is a 4.5 guy. You would almost think it would be lower if his top speed is over 21mph.

He is extremely difficult to evaluate though because of the talent he was going against. Some of the runs he had you basically just had to ignore. A lot of missed tackles that is hard to see happening at the NFL level.

Even some of the throws some of the guys were so wide open it's hard to take a lot a way from it.

Touche.

I'm down with either guy you mentioned just not that high on Jones, he's the guy you settle for if the others aren't there.

Correct. Not as many passing attempts BUT 145 of Jones' attempts were at or behind the LOS this year.

This is not talked about enough at all

It means he's confident with a strong personality. He's the lead wolf and lets it be known in the locker room.

Fields is quiet and a self-described introvert; Mac Jones is a goofy dork(def a beta); I don't know about Zach Wilson. We mainly hear that he's a prick.
