Wasn't that a CK trait also?
Kap had no arc in his long passes, all rocket no finesse. Lance on the other hand throws a beautiful catchable deep pass

Kap had a college 58% completion percentage vs 67% for Lance who only had 1 Int in his college career.

His "college career" is one season. Not a knock on him, but it's something to consider.

Not ready for the NFL. Should have stayed one more year in college at least. Not fond of a guy who is rushing. Pass.

The problem is that he is a little raw with accuracy, lack of tape, and smaller competition. You can make a great argument as for why kyle would love each of the most likely 3 qbs and thats what he and lynch want. No one knows who we want and it keeps teams from trading up with the jets

I love this post. Trey was my guy when I thought we'd get him at 12 as the teams would be scared of the sample size.

I personally couldn't justify picking him after this trade up, but if we did select him I'd be thrilled, it would be the ballsiest move in history.

I've said ad nauseam that although his film evaluation is incomplete, the traits are there. After that it's a case of backing the kid, and backing your coaches.

I'd gladly bet a $100 on him being amazing, but I wouldn't bet a $1000, figuratively speaking that's what we'd be doing.

I can't see it happening, but more power to us if we do, it's not my money!

What's the deal with Fields under pressure? That's an alarming stat from PFF.

I think that's why some analysts throw out the "one read QB" about his game.

That's that twitch. That's what separates Lance and Fields for me as athletes. Lance has more twitch. He is snappier than Fields in his movements.

That's also one major reason why Zach Wilson's arm talent is special. The dude is twitched up.

I think this trade is a big swing for the fences by Kyle and Lynch. This is a "go big or go home" move and I think they're going for the highest ceiling possible. Of all the traits (note: TRAITS not experience or level of competition), I can see them falling in love with Lance. His throwing motion and release is a lot cleaner and faster than Fields. He's so dangerous running the boot action and I can totally see Kyle salivating over the idea of designing plays for this guy. I really do see Kyle envisioning him as his version of Elway/Young.

I get that he's raw, but who better in all of football can maximize his abilities better than Shanny?

No way.

Completely agree. You said it better than I ever could though lol.
The thing I hate most about the draft is falling in love with a player...it makes it that much more difficult when the team doesn't draft them lol.

I find myself on the Trey Lance bandwagon the more I watch him. But I'm staying open minded for when the Niners inevitably pick someone else. I just want whoever the Niners draft to turn into a stud.

Oh man, I was on the Fields bandwagon (assuming Wilson is gone) but that under pressure rating is serious cause for concern.

Very impressive numbers by Lance ^ His average depth of target is the best too.
