It just makes too much sense.

19 yrs old! freshman!

Terrible accuracy to all parts of the field besides within 10 yards

That's just not true, his accuracy is inconsistent but his throwing motion was very funky, he dipped his rear leg and it caused his head to lower and raise sometimes which can definitely effect accuracy.

He's cleaned this up. We do need to see how this will play out on the field.

If you're looking for a finished product when watching the film of a 19 year old RS Freshman, then you'll be disappointed.

Yes sir!

I remember in the presser Kyle brought up Mahomes/Smith situation as something you'd like to have.

high ceiling rookie who can sit for a yr behind a vet and still win games.

he gets it.

I just wish he went back to school for one more year. To me just makes no sense why he is coming out in a loaded QB class, while he could stay another year while still only being 21 and be the potential 1st overall pick next year if he is actually as good as people are saying he is.

Personally I think he is just riding the Josh Allen hype while not having the tools Josh Allen had and all the accuracy issues (admittedly not as big of an issue).

he's more nuanced as a 19 yr old than Josh Allen was coming out of school and more accurate.

+1 on team Lance. This is how I'm hoping it plays out with him sitting behind Jimmy for a year (or so).

Very nice. All of his intangibles along with making calls with oline on protection gives him a great start here with Shanahan

And the fact that he was doing it all as a Freshman to top it off! Not just a great start, been saying this, he's more of a fit for this system than anyone

Those Shanahan comments about drafting Josh Allen in 2017 are telling. Allen had 2 fewer starts and 90 more pass attempts in 2017 than Trey Lance does right now. I don't think a measly 90 pass attempts will deter Kyle from Lance if he was ready to take Allen.
1) Lawrence (not going to happen)
2) Wilson (most likely not)
3) Lance (biggest upside and have a great situation for him to be groomed the right way
4) Fields (slightly behind Lance, but much of the same)
5) Jones (would still be an upgrade over Jimmy, but really a huge investment for minimal improvement)

That would work. But to be honest, I think the transition to this system for him would be so smooth that he would be killing Jimmy in camp and outshine him in everything and win the job by the end of preseason

Yup nothing has changed there. He's been on point with a ton of free agent signings as well.

we will see!

Josh Allen also had arguably the best tools ever and for all his accuracy issues could actually hit the deep ball, while Trey Lance has slightly above average size and an above average arm with the worst deep ball accuracy of any QB in this draft class.
