Those Shanahan comments about drafting Josh Allen in 2017 are telling. Allen had 2 fewer starts and 90 more pass attempts in 2017 than Trey Lance does right now. I don't think a measly 90 pass attempts will deter Kyle from Lance if he was ready to take Allen.

That's pretty substantial imo.
I wouldn't hate Lance though. Just prefer Fields.

IMO he's not any riskier than Fields....Zach Wilson seems "safer" than both of those guys but I doubt he's available when the Niners pick.
I like Lance because I think he's a perfect fit for Shanahan and I think his physical traits are top notch.
