Trey Lance QB NDSU

This is the best route if they are all in on jimmy this season. Gives jimmy a light under his ass but also gives him enough cushion cause Lance is raw.

This would remind me of when the warriors drafted wiseman. A freak of nature but not a lot of experience that you have to mold and hone in.

Bold statement in a draft with Trevor Lawrence or even Justin Fields.
But Trey Lance has an immense upside.
That's a pretty bold statement. Elway had one of the best arms I've ever seen. He also had 4 years at Stanford (3 as the starter) playing against what was tough PAC-10 competition. He was much easier to evaluate. Lance is a BIG ?.

I think it´s more a comparison based on Lance´s profile more than anything. You could say that at third, Lance is maybe the one between the three that fits best the Elway model. Fields also I guess. I don ´t think Barrows thinks for one second that Lance is the second coming of Elway.

So maiocco seems to be on the Mac train and Barrows is on the lance train. Damn even they're split on who they think we're getting.

By profile do you mean size? He doesn't have near enough games to compare on field performance.

Niners are pretty good at the smokescreen game on this one. I legitimately have no clue who they want.

Meet them in the middle and draft Zach Fields.

I keep going back and forth between Lance and Fields, being ok with Mac, and not liking anybody lol. The only major thing that scares me with Lance is the JMU. It was the only game where he was really under pressure and boy did he crumble. Mechanics went out the window, got laser-focused on his first read.

If you can point to one thing that separates good from great players, it's that they elevate their game when the competition is highest. I'm fairly certain Fields has this trait, Mac hasn't been tested at all and Lance may have a red flag there.

Did he elevate his game vs Alabama?....how about Northwestern?

You know the one thing fields is missing that both Lance and Mac have?

It's a National Championship.

Stop pushing this narrative. Show me an all time great QB that has a college National Championship as a starter and SB.

Arm strength, Running ability, Physical Size. Kid has it all and he's coming from a pro style offense playing under center, in a huddle and had the responsibility to make protection calls too.

All those tackles he breaks, I don't think that's happening with non-FCS defenders. Sure he's strong, but when it comes to broken tackles, I think there is a very direct correlation with the lesser talented FCS.

Son of a b*tch, the word is Shanny and Lynch want different QBs according to what Michael Lombardi has heard and needless to say Kyle calls the shots. 2 NFL head coaches also believe is going to be Mac Jones.

Why am I not surprised? Because Mac Jones is the same type of sh*tty quarterbacks that Shanahan likes ala Cousins, Beathard, etc. Also, back in 2017 when John Lynch went down to Mahomes' pro day as a smokescreen, after watching Mahomes threw he did call Shanny and told him may be they needed to rethink about the plan instead of taking Solomon Thomas. And what happened? Shanny ignored Lynch's advice and stuck to his guns to take Solomon Thomas. And this is why we have ended up here as we speak.

Honestly, if this is true and say Kyle Shanahan really insists on taking Mac Jones, if I were John Lynch I would resign. I wouldn't put my name to drafting Mac Jones and possibly turning this massive trading up plan into a train wreck.

Agreed, if I was Lynch I would be so pissed at Kyle and the organization.

Yep, watching his games and see him just taking those without much thought. He'll get killed trying that in the NFL.
