I've seen Lance apparently fail to see the short guy a number of times (usually a hot route, but sometimes a wide open FB on a boot), and throw into coverage deep. But it's entirely possible he just can't resist the deep ball. But I've not seen him fail to see wide open touchdowns as much as Fields.

It could be a lot of things. Maybe scheme. Maybe I just haven't watched enough. Maybe it's that he has too few attempts to show it. But I haven't really seen Lance leave wide open touchdowns on the field all that much. Every QB does it, but some more than others, and Lance less than Fields I think.

And of course, Lance can clearly work within the structure of a pro-style offense, and he's younger and more of a blank slate.

Here's a game where he costs NDSU multiple touchdown scores by missing wide open receivers, with the drives ending in FGs

There isn't one single play in that game where Lance FAILED TO SEE wide open touchdowns. He MISSED some passes, but that is not what I was discussing above. Since you're talking about an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT TOPIC, why even respond to me?

That said, Lance did fail to see two hot routes in this game.

The fact that he played in a offense with a lot of similar concepts of Kyle´s playbook is something important. That´s how Kyle took a liking in CJ. He played in a run heavy/play action offense in Iowa. Kyle could project what CJ could possibly do at the other level.
I have a hard time thinking Kyle won´t see something in Lance.
I think Fields is the one to draft but I ´d like to think Kyle would prefer Lance.

His ball placement is soooo freakin horrible.

I like Fields more, but if we're really trying to connect the dots Lance makes a ton of sense.

Sorry but I interpret badly missing wide open touchdown throws because of terrible ball accuracy as leaving wide open touchdowns on the field.

There's more opportunity to nitpick a guy like Fields because he attempted far more passes. When you have over twice as many attempts, it stands to reason that you'll have a lot more to criticize.

Fields never had the luxury of going up against Bama, attempting only ten passes the entire game and still winning. Its a super run heavy offense where he throws relatively few passes and often only in some of the most favorable circumstances which is something that Garoppolo got bashed for.
Way better prospect than Wentz who went #2 overall. Better stats, not quite the size, better athleticism. I'm no scout so it's tough to compare guys across different programs but Wentz vs Lance looks like a clear win for Lance imo.

Carson Wentz was 24 years old when he was drafted, Lance will be 21.
Granted Trey is raw and Wentz was pro ready.
But this kid did something impressive as a 19 years old freshman.

I'm hoping they pick Lance too. His potential his though the roof and that's definitely something to be excited about.

Yeah he's just a bebe...he doesn't have any bad habits yet and kyle can molding him into whatever he wants. He's already got a great foundation for his offense and everything I heard says he's high football IQ and a grinder.

They're not having multiple meetings just for s**ts and giggles.

I really won't be shocked if he's the pick

That's a different issue. When you're talking about a guy's speed to you point out that he can't bench well?

It's easier to get better at accuracy than it is to get better at field vision.

Yeah. He's definitely under serious consideration if they've had 3 meetings with him.
It's such a shame that he didn't play the rest of the season. He really couldve used the reps.
