They already have their minds made up. Monday is a formality or smokescreen however you want to look at it. They need to show ownership they did their homework.

Yeah. I'm not buying the talk about it being wide open. Shanahan has known who he wants since he did the trade imo...it's just us fans and media that are trying to connect the dots.

No it's the best fit not just for a system but for the current NFL. Jones literally has a camp strength arm, period.

The 49ers were just testing the waters on trade-up/down before Lance's first pro day, but once they saw Lance's performance, Kyle and John became determined to get the trade-up done very quickly.

I am just glad this obvious clue is finally obvious to everyone now!

Kyle pretty much gave away all the clues during his most recent conference, he wants the biggest, meanest, strongest, best looking (ala Jimmy) etc. LOL, who else doubt the pick?,

BTW, I mentioned Jones face on a 49ers helmet kind of does not look like a QB, but maybe a lineman. How about Fields on a 49ers helmet - have you seen one? To me, he is also a great looking kid but he looked weird on a 49ers helmet! I don't know if it's the face paint, or the hair LOL! Again, kidding aside he is also a great option at QB but Lance has more of that quiet self-confidence in him, plus he carries a football as his lovie!

I forgot to add, "on film" in addition to what they already know from scouting months before Lance's pro day and the 49ers representatives' reports to Kyle and John compelled them to make the move right there and then because the risk of trading up was well worth it for this Unicorn!

No way he's the pick - he's just too raw.

I'm at the point where I'd be ok with any of the Wilson, Field, Lance trio. They all have pros/cons but I think any of the three would be a huge upgrade and worthy of the trade.
