But I just think it's a big jump for him. He's also not 6'5" like Wentz. A program like Ohio State or Alabama just has to prepare you better for coming into the NFL. But NDSU is the best at their division level. I just can't see him at #3 overall. I think we could have stayed put and got him there if this is what we wanted. It almost hast to be Mac Jones or Fields.

The funny thing is that only one of these schools had their QB's calling plays in a huddle, only one has their QB making protection calls, and only one gives the power to audible.

I'll give you a clue, they didn't contest the National title.

So which one really has their QB the most ready to play in the NFL?

The school that only called 10 pass plays in the Championship game?

Their is nothing and I mean nothing Lance can do at his pro day to sway the 49ers decision. The team already knows who they are going to draft and have known since they made the trade too No.3. If Lance is the pick then it was made a long time ago and will not be made tomorrow. Fields had a perfect Pro day so Lance can't out do that. Either Lance or Fields will be the pick and one of them has always been the pick before these pro days.

That's likely the case but I wouldn't say it's necessarily the case.

All the trade to 3 meant was there was at the very least 3 guys they studied that they'd be perfectly happy to draft but that number could be 4 or even 5.

Lance's pro day carries a little more significance since he didn't play all but one game last season and by all accounts he's really worked on polishing his mechanics since then. One of his biggest knocks is inconsistent accuracy so the pro day gives him a chance to show off much more polished mechanics which means better and more consistent accuracy and that could boost his stock in the eyes of Shanahan and the 9ers.

For the sake of argument let's say Lombardi is right and it's Jones vs Lance with Shanahan and the front office and it's a close debate. Lance showing that he's a more polished passer than he was in 2019 could be enough to swing the debate in Lance's favor.

And if the DM Middlekauf got was true that the Shanahans were the ones that told Lance to go to John Beck it does mean they are at least intrigued and a consideration because you wouldn't bother to have him go to one of your main guys if he wasn't at least somewhat on the radar.

I know a team that did that in the NFC championship game and was told for a year why pass if you don't need too

Lance: 120.1

Fields: 104. 3.

Wilson: 69.9

What I've been trying to say is that Lance even with his elite team has WRs that drop balls more than any other QB in this class. At least that's what I see on his film I don't have the exact numbers. We have to try to isolate the player from his his surroundings and I think we're overvaluing Lance's weapons because his team's success was probably the easiest of any top QB.

It could be he had more drops because his guys are constantly stretching, jumping, kneeling, falling, slowing, stumbling try to catch his errant passes
Were going to draft Fields or Lance I'm finally convinced

Didn't that team trade away 4 picks to upgrade their QB? The discussion was about which school prepared their QB for the NFL more. I would say only letting him throw 10 times is not really focusing on his passing development.

Plus the Niners were dominating the packers all game. NDSU only won by a TD. Not to mention, if Jimmy rushed 30 times and completed 6 passes, I would say that Kyle probably trusted his legs more than his arm.

They already are. He's now tied with Mac Jones on DraftKings (dude was a heavy underdog an hour ago) and BetOnline just took their odds down.
