Yes, this makes me feel good they're being very meticulous

It could be he had more drops because his guys are constantly stretching, jumping, kneeling, falling, slowing, stumbling try to catch his errant passes

If you watch JT O'Sullivans QB school on him and other videos like that you will actually see that about 1/3 of the "good" plays he covers are perfectly thrown passes that are dropped.

Go to 11minute mark - he's talking about Lance.

Really want Lance at 3. He's gonna be something else in Shanahan's offense.

Absolute great listen Want Lance at 3 even more after watching this video no doubt

OK I'm more sold after watching that video. We can pick Trey Lance at #3. I will even be happy if we do. No player is a guarantee. But his upside is absolutely huge. There is no doubt.
So, in effect a good deal of the drills Lance will do tomorrow are from the Niners...isn't that interesting. Could lend more credence to SF hanging onto Jimmy until Coach feels Lance is ready to take over. Beck is a guy Shanahan trusts so since both Fields & Lance are using Niner drills the pick could be either one of them. Wow...this intrigue is something. Niners have woven quite a web of wondering...keep everyone guessing 'til the draft. In a weird way, I love it.

It was known shortly after Mac's pro day that Lance will be holding a second pro day for those who couldn't make it to his first. It just now coming out with the news that the Niners and Beck are going to have Lance throw some stuff for them. That's the part that's new.

Lance has top 5 NFL qb potential, and I don't care what anyone else says. He has everything if Kyle and the staff help him reach his potential

It could take some time and nobody is a guarantee. But his upside is huge. Sometimes you got to aim for the home run.

I think it's worth it - maybe, keep Jimmy for another year, if Lance is still not ready. I think one year should be enough, though, the kid is real smart.

I think ppl don't appreciate enough that he was fully in charge of almost everything in that offense. He was basically Peyton Manning-ing that offense. That's really really impressive for a 19 year old.

We've been on 49ers Webzone since early 1997 Mayo, that's a very long time for anybody to develop some sources brother but I can't be more than a 49ers fan here. Our beloved team must hit the jackpot on this one this time around or I have to stop coming here to preserve my health.

We've lost a few good friends here (God Bless their Souls) the past couple decades because of heartaches (possibly), and I am old now too. I just can't take a lot of team disappointments anymore so Trey Lance has to be the right guy!

Have fun tomorrow everyone on whatever clips /pics we get from Lance's 2nd pro day.
Lance would be my pick and the more I hear and read about him the more I want the 9ers to draft him.

The upside is just immense and normally you can't bet on that alone but with his drive, work ethic, and chip on his shoulder I'd put my money on him working to live up to every ounce of potential he has.

Things like studying NFL defenses when he was in college and being a film junkie are things that excite me because those are the things that guys like Brady and Peyton Manning do. And having full autonomy on the line of scrimmage is another thing you'd see a Peyton Manning do.

I'll be the first to admit this is rose colored glasses delusional fan perspective but can you imagine having all the physical gifts we're coveting with Fields but with a Peyton Manning on the mental side of things? Again it's probably delusional but I'll take that bet because that wouldn't be just a home run but that would be a World Series game 7 bottom of the 9th 2 outs on an 0 - 2 count down by 3 runs game winning grand slam.

It's impossible to tell since us armchair scouts just have film to look at but I'm really starting to believe he's the pick at #3. If Shanahan feels like his flaws can be polished out I don't see him passing on a guy with all the physical tools that he wants with the football acumen he also covets in his QBs. It'd be like taking all the physical things you love with Fields and combining them with all the mental things you love with Jones.
Member Milestone: This is post number 300 for WolfTotem.
After weeks of deliberation I'm climbing on the Lance bandwagon. There is just some things he does so well. Saw a clip where he is rolls out of the pocket and fires an absolute bullet in a reasonably small window between two defenders. Whilst on the run to his left. It's impressive.

Jones just doesn't have the arm strength upside I want at 3. And Fields sack rate and that North Western game worry me.
Anybody know what time it starts today?
When they 1st traded up to 3 this was the guy I immediately assumed they were trading up for. I was like ok we are getting Trey Lance. And then I became baffled when I heard that it was likely for Mac Jones which I still refuse to believe. And then we heard Kyle and John's press conference where they said they immediately called Jimmy up and told him he is still very much in their plans which again brought me back to Lance. The one guy out of the 3 who needs to sit a year. Why would you keep Jimmy if you draft Jones? All I keep hearing is how pro-ready he is and could step right in. If Jimmy is not traded and starts week 1, he will be the starter the whole season unless he gets injured. And they aren't going to trade him mid-season unless he asked to be traded. So I say again why would you draft Jones if you are planning on keeping Jimmy? Apparently he is an elite proccessor already, So he should have no problem stepping in day 1.
