Would be surprising if today's pro day would be enough to sway the team to pick him if that's not already the direction we are heading.
I think he was their guy from the get go.
If they draft Trey Lance, I bet the media will create the narrative that Lance swayed them with his pro day.
It's one way they can save face if the Niners don't pick Mac Jones...."They we're going to pick Mac Jones like we told you plebs but then Kyle Shanahan had a change of heart!"...or something along those lines.
For the record, I think Kyle has known who he's wanted since they made the trade.
Probably he wanted Jones.
From an article April 2nd:
Justin Fields, Mac Jones and Trey Lance are viewed as the three signal-callers the 49ers will choose between at No. 3 overall, with Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson expected to be the first two players selected. W
hile early whispers have tabbed Jones as the 49ers' top choice, Dan Patrick reported Thursday that he's hearing coach Kyle Shanahan and the team's personnel department have different feelings on who the pick should be.
"Yeah, I know Kyle Shanahan loves Mac," Patrick said, reading a text
from a source. "
Was told personnel department is still hoping to change his mind to Trey Lance. I get that Mac fits what he does, but man, I would want a lot more with that third pick."
Another source told Patrick they are hearing that Jones is the expected pick, while a third source said they believe Lance makes more sense with the 49ers' plan for 2021.

Who knows who these sources are, and if they are credible. Could still be Lance or Fields all along as well.
