There is no question Lance has a killer arm. From a physical standpoint, he has it all. SO I can see what some people love about him. If you were going to build a Qb in a lab from a physical standpoint, Lance might be as close as you get. Pro days do not tell me anything different, that I didn't already know about him though. The problem is we just didn't get enough of him in college to ever know if he has the other stuff needed to succeed at the next level. No matter what they throw at him in shorts they cannot simulate what we needed to see more of in real game situations. Too many unknowns and too big of a risk for me to spend 3 first-round pick on. Lance is either going to be Amazing or a complete and utter bust. There is going to be no middle ground with him. And I cannot say with any confidence which of the two it is going to be.

Disagree...it's all about understanding his football IQ and from everything we've heard it's stupid good for how young he is.

I don't think he needs another yr of kicking the s**t out of the FCS to show if he's got it. All we talk about is how great Kyle is with getting guys open and making the offense easy for a QB....under structure. There is no reason as to why Lance can run this offense, we see him running the same offense already. The difference is when s**t isn't under structure. Plays break down... Lance/Wilson/Fields can create. that's the difference and I think Kyle is tired of watching his QBs being unable to do that.

I don't think his accuracy is that bad either. I also don't expect a 19 yr old to be at his peak in regards to QB play...including accuracy. He's still a pup.

I'm still team Fields but I wouldn't be shocked or disappointed if it's Lance.
Honestly the only hesitation at this point is due to the competition level. You can't really fault him for that. I think he would have played just as well in the SEC and Big 10.

Trey has a damn good arm ngl.
I would go with Fields but even I could see Lance becoming a thunderous player.
The Jaguars have the easiest choice of the world because it´s Trevor Lawrence, after that good luck everyone.

Yup I'm in the same exact boat as you NY. Lance is the most moldable piece this year. It's crazy that he hasn't had an actual qb coach until recently and he looks as good as he is. Fields is still the favorite in my eye but I won't blame shanny if trey convinces him he is the guy.

I kind of would be. Lance is the player you take a swing at if a player like Fields is gone. People call him Josh Allen 2.0. Josh Allen went 12th in the draft. If we do draft him, I hope to be wrong.
Imo there's a couple of huge differences between Lance and Fields. These guys have some similarities like arm strength and athletic ability. But also some very key differences. From what I've seen Lance was a much better decision maker and processor as a nineteen year old than Fields was as a junior last year. Lance also has the advantage with having read defenses while dropping back from under center, having called plays in the huddle, and also having called out coverage schemes at the los. These are things that Fields will have to learn, they're foreign concepts to him at the moment. Fields was a more accurate passer last year than Lance was as a nineteen year old so it's not like Fields doesn't have any advantages on Lance. But the processing speed and all the other stuff with the offense he played in tell me at least that Lance is gonna be the pick. I'm fully believe Lombardi when he says Fields isn't under consideration because all the research I've done points me in that same direction. Too many bad decisions for Justin and too many things to learn.

Depends how you define accuracy

His completion percentage was hurt by his supporting cast

Think it was a podcast with the QB training team that works with Lance where they provided multiple examples of great deep balls where the WR did stupid s**t to ruin it
-stopped running the route
-hit the face and missed catch
Etc.

Can someone give the skinny on him as to why he hisc labeled with potentially having the highest ceiling?

I'm not seeing it. IMHO it's just media hype. You get those every year from these D2 schools. I'm not seeing this "IT" factor in him.

Not seeing the "IT" factor? Everybody is praising him on his arm strength, accuracy and intelligence. I don't know were your getting this not it stuff.

I could give two cents that everyone is praising him. Come on you see that every fkn year, and it's been like that forever. And these pundits are often way off and wrong vs being right.
I could care less about his arm strength and intelligence, who was his competition? Sorry I'm just not that impressed. Every year there's physically gifted athletes, that's doesn't mean they transition to the next level.
Last best/solid D2 QB the NFL has had was McNair. Flacco had a decent few years, Wentz... meh. Fitzmagic? Jimmy G? Romo?

just saying I think facing stiff competition goes a long way. It seems to workout better for other positions vs QB's. I'd think he's got a long ways to go in developing at the Pro level.

IMHO I just don't see him being this stud QB at the next level that all the media keep saying.

How anyone could want Jones over Fields or Lance baffles me.

If your an egotistical maniac and want to get fired. Taking Jones will be a fire able offense

"Sports Info Solutions' proprietary quarterback metric that builds on the traditional Passer Rating formula by isolating competitive throws (e.g., by excluding throwaways and only including accurate completions) and eliminating the effects of results outside his control (e.g., dropped passes, dropped interceptions).

Lance: 120.1

Fields: 104. 3.

Wilson: 69.9"

it's a real company who made this stat. Doesn't prove he's more accurate than Fields but Lance is certainly not inaccurate.
