Great question and great input. I remember Brees struggling the season before they picked #1. He then improved dramatically and then incredibly with Sean Payton.

There has been a long standing narrative that if you are in accurate in college then you will be in the Pros. As you have shown, there have been a number of QBs who have improved. Makes sense that as they mature and dedicate their full time and energy that they will improve

Btw...Trey Lance college completion % is 67%

I know I know - competition - but his WRs were also Division II players. He wasn't throwing to NFL talent either.

I am hearing a lot of this - you can't improve your accuracy lately a lot. To me - it makes no sense. How can you not improve with better mechanics, more experience and practice and with right coaching and understanding of the game?!? You have to put in the time - some players may say they are but aren't really putting time into right things

Don't matter - Shanahan is about to shock the World. Gonna draft Lance and wreck this league.

We can wrap this one up. We aren't selecting a project at #3 when a more polished version is already available. I would understand the Lance pick if Fields wasn't on the table.

Before Wilson had his 2020 season, there were only 2 QBs in top 5 discussion: Fields and Lawrence. SF is probably excited that Wilson had the year he had and is going #2 because they've wanted Fields all along.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they had Fields ranked #1. You don't make a jump like that unless you feel like you are getting the best player at that position from YOUR board. No team makes that jump for the second best at that position if 2-4 are "close" like all the smokescreen media making it seem like. There is no 2-4 for SF.

If anything, SF has a 1a and 1b.

All I know is NYJ better not change their minds and take Lance instead of Wilson. I don't mind Wilson, but I love me some Lance.

I don't want to be in a position where we have a chance to draft an unwordly talent but pass because we prefer a QB that looks more like a pocket QB.

To me, Zach Wilson just as unproven as Trey Lance is. But somehow, Wilson jumped to #2.

Zach Wilson played three seasons, with 2020 his most recent. Lance played 1, with his most recent 2 seasons ago.
