Trey Lance QB NDSU

Trey Lance QB NDSU

Trey Lance has a great arm. But Wilson has a unique spin that Rodgers and Mahomes have. But I get your point. And to me, his frame and size are a concern too. I actually don't know how I feel now.

Post-trade:
Wilson > Lance > Fields > Jones

Past few days:
Wilson > Lance or Fields > Jones

But now, I think I'm:
Wilson or Lance or Fields > Jones

I like all three and all three have some concerns, but I think all three would be devastating in our system. It's really that simple for me. Jones, if picked should do very well, but there's no expectation of growth.

Clearly the strongest arm in the draft.

It's tempting but i wonder if that is enough for him. Arm strength? Accuracy on long ball? Escapability? He's got it. But he is missing a bunch of tape kyle is using in his decision and time and time again, Kyle defers questions with, "I'm going to have to look at the tape.".

That is the only thing hurting Lance right now, but it is a BIG kyle item. Lance looks like NFL QB. But kyle has lots of tape on Wilson, Fields, and Mac. Sure be fascinating to be the fly on the wall and hear how the discussion of these 4 guys go. Would they even take Zack at #3, if fields goes to Jets /

That's a question in and of itself. But still, man how i would love to hear this discussion. Oh one thing? We will NEVER hear about what went into the decision....even when JL announces the pick ...we'll never know why. They just don't spill the beans, like every other HC/GM in the league.

I hate that...but i love the fact they NEVER tell. That is exactly what you want your HC and GM to not do. Of course if you're in DAL, big Jer always announces what he is doing, and why. Thank God we don't have that to worry about.

I am hoping that the thing he likes about CJ was he had multiple years of tape on him. Parcells has a minimum of starts in college requirement, I wonder if Kyle does too?

If i had to bet...I'd say yeah. But it ain't there. And that's a shame.

He looks like Josh Allen. Slightly less arm strength, but probably better accuracy. I would be very pleased if he was the pick.

Some fans crack me up. They post like Kyle reads the board and will be swayed by their thoughts lol.

Fields fans on Twitter are like the Beyhive.

If it's Fields, I'll be stoked too. I really don't see how we go wrong with Fields, Wilson, or Lance.
Kyle you better be reading this and reading this hard - you better take Lance or your ass will be back in Ohio carrying Baker's bucket while he is cleaning restrooms. You better get swayed by my thoughts right now.

Yeah, I don't see it either - I think he's got a stronger arm then Allen and throws a better ball.

The 49ers now have a week an half to take all the feedback and data, perhaps look at more film, to make a final decision. We will find out if the one guy they traded up for (if there was one) is the same guy they draft or they that were swayed since the trade.

Please tell me they are spending adequate time on picks 3,4, 5,...and also 6 and 7rds. Rd 2 will be CB/OL, and then rd 3 get the other. But hopefully they have spent adequate time (altho diminished due to QB deal) on their other picks . The further we go with QB due diligence, the less our guys are spending on the "rest of the picks" but esp in rds 3,4, and 5.

obviously w/ 2 firsts and a third on the line, the QB has to be done as well as humanly possible....just don't want our remaining picks to get short shrift.

i keep posting this but the ;longer the QB decision drags on , the less time
JL has to figure who/ when/ and when can we move up...or down to fill up our holes. There is the matter of an ER also.

90's Brett Favre and Jamarcus Russell might have better arm strength than Josh Allen, but that's about it.

How did these guys improve their accuracy?

It took Allen 3 years to improve his accuracy those other examples are around there as well. The problem is we are in our super Bowl window now, we don't have 3-4 years to wait for his accuracy to improve especially when we can can draft a more accurate QB instead of him. Not to mention, the rookie wage scale makes teams feel they have to move on form QBs like Darnold and Tannehil and Winston and Mariota before then because they have to decide whether or not to pay them at that point. Or you end up paying them too early like Goff and Wentz.

Like I said in previous posts, if Justin Fields wasn't available, you roll the dice on Lance and pray that he improves his accuracy to be as accurate as Feilds already is. If Fields is availible, I don't see why you you pass on him. Its like having a 5 stroke lead on the 18th hole and pulling out your driver to go for the hole in one. Just put it safely down the fairway and take the cash!
