Some fans crack me up. They post like Kyle reads the board and will be swayed by their thoughts lol.

Fields fans on Twitter are like the Beyhive.

If it's Fields, I'll be stoked too. I really don't see how we go wrong with Fields, Wilson, or Lance.

You can make a solid case for Jones too. Kyle knows way more than me and so I'll roll with whoever he picks.

If he screws up, he'll probably be out of here in a couple years.

No, I think Jones is out of the picture - it's Lance or Fields on the 29th.

Yea - accuracy thing is def. talked about a lot bc he doesn't have many weaknesses. As you mentioned - he was 19 and he ONLY started playing QB at age 14. He didn't get any private coaching till this past year when his season was canceled unlike other players in this class who have been getting it for years.

For many - problem is his competition and that's a valid point. At the same time - he was offered to play RB, LB, Safety for some bigger schools but he refused and went to ND St. to play QB. Shows me that he has complete conviction and belief in himself and guess what - he was 120% correct. He is gonna be a high pick in NFL draft (hopefully no. 3) and if that happens - I have no doubt in my mind that he will be in conversation for best QB in the league in 3-4 years with Shanahan.

The accuracy thing is talked about because its so crucial to the position in the NFL. Historically speaking, if you have shaky accuracy in college, the odds of it getting substantially better in the NFL are pretty slim. People are just on this "anyone can improve accuracy" kick because Josh Allen appears to be an exception to the rule. I said months ago that eventually one of these QB's is going to turn out to be a massive bust and then the NFL will find a new fad to follow. I don't know if Lance is that guy but its clear that he's nowhere near the level of a precision passer that Fields, Wilson and Jones are. Maybe that changes in the future but if you're taking him that early, you're better a whole lot on him joining Allen in fighting against the odds.

The accuracy thing is more of a big question mark than an issue. Deriving long-term patterns from one year as a true freshman leaves a lot of variables unknown. Those questions are why he seems a bit of a reach to pick at three despite the fact he is oozing with potential and could easily be the best pick of the draft. If he is the pick at three, then some of those questions we as fans have, have been addressed through the pro days/people connected like Beck. If he's the pick, I'm stoked because he must've been super impressive today and throughout his recent work.

I don't know. There's a lot of smoke around Mac Jones from reputable reporters. They might be getting fed BS from the Niners...but I wouldn't totally dismiss it.

Jones is the type of QB that Kyle has historically gravitated toward...He might change things up here though. Only 10 days away :)

Clearly the strongest arm in the draft.

He looks like Josh Allen. Slightly less arm strength, but probably better accuracy. I would be very pleased if he was the pick.
.

Yeah, I don't see it either - I think he's got a stronger arm then Allen and throws a better ball.

90's Brett Favre and Jamarcus Russell might have better arm strength than Josh Allen, but that's about it.

62 mph at the combine for Josh Allen is the top score all time in regards to the velocity testing.

He's certainly up there with Favre and Elway. I think Lance has a gun closer to Mayfield, Cousins, Stafford and Kap that 59-60 mph range.

Lance is a better athlete however....kid was clocked at 21.54 mph via GPS on a 44 yard TD run in his championship game. That would have put him 12th in the NFL last season among all ball carriers.https://www.nfl.com/news/2021-nfl-draft-trey-lance-won-t-run-40-at-pro-day-leaning-on-tape-to-show-speed

Some more throws from proday2.

That's an elite elite elite arm.

Elite arm with non of awkwardness that you get with Fields mechanics.

Allen had the strongest arm I've ever seen. Ridiculous arm strength. Few QBs have reached that stratosphere.

But worse accuracy. I'd still rather have Fields.
So Mac Jones is the only one who hasn't impressed during his pro day? Yes 49ers should draft him

I wonder if the Jets are s**ting bricks knowing they're stuck taking Wilson.

Mayo, it's not cast in stone anywhere, and don't think for a moment when Saleh, GM, and OC were at Field's 2nd pro day run by Kyle, that they didn't leave there with some deep misgivings about , "Did we make our decision on Zack too soon?" Bet your boots that convo occurred. Nobody left Field's 2nd day thinking, ,"Man what a dog"....sure glad we got Zack.

It didn't go down like that. They left Fields 2nd pro day completely in awe, and looking at his competition vs Zacks...they were muy impressed. I'll bet the house on that. KS/JL/peters have to have spent some serious time on Zack too. Did Peters by chance attend zacks pro day? IDK.

the chance of JEts going Fields? I'd say fairly good. Their decision is basically just two guys . One they basically unofficially announced welcome to NY, and the other...i think they left Fields 2nd pro day completely stuck in undecided.

remember just a couple yrs ago, JL/KS went to draft with agreement "NO QBs" and John has said several times, "that was the one decision i agreed to that really bothered me"...with Mahomes there. And he wasn't the only QB, either

We can wrap this one up. We aren't selecting a project at #3 when a more polished version is already available. I would understand the Lance pick if Fields wasn't on the table.

Before Wilson had his 2020 season, there were only 2 QBs in top 5 discussion: Fields and Lawrence. SF is probably excited that Wilson had the year he had and is going #2 because they've wanted Fields all along.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they had Fields ranked #1. You don't make a jump like that unless you feel like you are getting the best player at that position from YOUR board. No team makes that jump for the second best at that position if 2-4 are "close" like all the smokescreen media making it seem like. There is no 2-4 for SF.

If anything, SF has a 1a and 1b.

Not much alike. Lance is a better processor and decision maker and has experience under center and in the huddle. They're only real similarity is in athletic profile. Even then Lance is the superior runner. Trey all day at #3.
