I would add that you clearly just don't like him if that's what you're seeing while "evaluating" his tape.

I think it's smart, you can see how much effort he is putting into his throwing motion and footwork, why mess around training for the 40?

It was definitely a business decision. It would have been "smart" to sit out the rest of the Clemson game and the Alabama game to not risk getting hurt before the draft as well.

He wants to be evaluated as a QB and not an athlete during the draft process. Lamar Jackson didn't run the 40 or do agility drills at the combine for the same reason.

This dude turned down solid D1 offers just for the opportunity to compete at QB at a small school. That's a more telling sign of 'competitive spirit' than whether or not he runs a 40. Let's not allow weird narratives to creep into the eval.

Do you really think you can judge whether he's hitting people in stride based on a few clips? What if the slow mo deep ball was more about displaying his arm than the route?
