I went back to watch more games of Lance thinking maybe I overlooked something. Nope. Actually came away thinking he sucked even worse. This guy is so overrated. No way is he the pick. It has got to be either Mac or Fields. Lance is a project. Lance had one game where he threw for over 300 yards. 1 out of 17 games he threw for over 300 yards. Do you know how many games he threw for over 200 yards? 4 out of 17 games he threw for over 200 yards. Absolutely Terrible. This all in games where NDSU was the best team playing against garbage teams. People will point to his TD to Int ratio in 2019. But It must have been the luck of the Gods on his side because at times his accuracy was downright terrible. You guys actually want to spend 3 first-round picks, #3 overall on this Kid? It baffles me. It truly does.

You went back to watch his games or his box scores? Lol not the same thing.

Ohhh I watched the Games believe me. His tape was so bad I could barely get through it. I think It helps to explain how bad someone is with there GOD awful stats to back it up..I just wanted to paint you all a picture of what you think we should be drafting.

I went to bed last night thinking to myself. How? How could someone who played that bad and not throw a single Interception in 2019? Could a man truly be that lucky? Did the man actually make a deal with the Devil? The only thing I could come up with is when he missed his receiver. And trust me he missed them often. That it was because he threw the ball so damn hard, with so little touch, was so inaccurate, so off-target.....That no one on the entire football field could see where he threw it, let alone actually catch it.

Oooh ok. Well, I hope these game you watched is available in video to 49ers bc their actions say they have yet to watch what you witnessed.

Fields threw the ball 352 times in 14 games vs Lance throwing 287 times in 16 games. Not to mention the fact that Fields only threw 20 total passes in the 4th quarter in regular season games (43 for the entire year) in 2019 and didn't even play the 2nd half in two of those games.

Look at 2020 for Fields. He played in 8 games and only threw 62 fewer passes than Lance did in an entire 16 game season.

You really want to put the future of a franchise on the arm of a guy whose college team didn't even trust his arm enough to rely on vs guys who are barely better than High School level talent?

I'd rather not take that chance with someone like Fields available.

Uhhh...that is not true. They actually trusted him more than any other QB in this draft. They let him call audibles and let him run the entire offense himself at LOS.

He ran an extremely simple offense and his audibles were mostly just changing from run to pass based on the defense.

Wrong. Again.
Try another guess.

I can't get excited about a guy who played in 19 games and had as many or more rushes than completions in 10 of them.

+1

Here, just released and he rushed for 23 yards in this game:

Or you can do more box score scouting... your choice.

JTO has Fields #1 even over Lawrence. Do you agree with him? If so, you only take Lance if Fields is gone.

That's the problem, why does he have to focus on "just" displaying his arm. Fields was dripping with sweat showing everything he had in BOTH pro days. You can explain it away all you want, but you have to admit, that COULD BE a red flag.

Wait the deep ball or the fact that Lance wasn't sweating? The deep ball obviously that could be a concern but his deep ball is generally listed as a strength on almost every scouting report I've read. If maybe underthrowing one deep ball on a pro day (I still think it's a bit hard to tell on that slow mo play where you see the receiver at the last moment) is a red flag then Mac overthrowing a receiver by 5+ yards on a deep ball is a pretty massive one too.

If it's the sweating then man these evaluations are getting tough. You apparently have to sweat the right amount to show you're working hard but I feel like you can't sweat TOO much either because then the criticism is that you're out of shape.

So this guy with Kyle's initials tattooed on his body and vice versa is saying Trey Lance has surpassed Fields in how they rank among teams evaluating the QB's...take it for what it is....

So he's already demonstrated that he has questionable judgement in the past.

The same guy that got both of Kyle's picks wrong last yr? Dude actually got only 6 picks correct in total last yr lol.

Lance is competing with Fields for the #3 spot. There was no one else like Jackson in his draft. If your competitor runs the 40, you should want to run the 40. I am not saying that Lance isn't a competitor, I am saying, that he has never matched up with an equal before, and when he did, he "seemed" to back down. That concerns me. Again, I hope I am seeing something that is not there, if he gets drafted at 3.

How does running a proven fast 40 time correlate to playing the QB position? We already know Lance is fast based on his tape, but would running as fast or faster than Fields elevate his draft stock?

Some GMs and HCs might agree with your philosophy on it and some won't. But if I am a GM, I don't see how it helps convince me he can be a FQB.

Lance and Fields IMHO had nothing to prove to evaluators with their speed. We already knew both were fast. If one wants to showcase it then great, if one prefers to not then that's great too.

Well I'm flattered you want my rankings
I'm actually not super duper high on Wilson. Disclaimer I'm an armchair GM with a special interest in QBs this year because I'm drafting low in my 2 QB dynasty draft. Also these wouldn't be fantasy related because landing spot matters for that.

1) TLaw
2a) Lance
2b) Fields
3) Wilson
4) Mond
5) Jones

The reason I have Lance ever so slightly over Fields is because I do think Fields has issues handling pressure and is missing open guys more often than I would like. As in missing an opportunity to throw to them and choosing to throw somewhere else. Also for being drafted by the 49ers in particular I think Fields has more to go learning wise than Lance does.

Edit - Also JT had Herbert ranked #8 last year I'm pretty sure. I love his videos, but this ranking business is tricky and anyone can be woefully wrong at times.

No one in the media and certainly here knows who the 49ers will pick but imo this much is sure that they're strongly considering both Fields and Lance.

You don't waste the time of these players, their coaches, and you certainly don't waste your own time - which is super valuable right now with 10 days left in the draft. Also, you don't travel for no good reason during a pandemic. Kyle and Lynch have families - who they like spending time with - and they're not risking their health with useless trips to ND or OH.

You don't ask Lance to leave his private coaches for few weeks and come train with Beck. Same with Fields.

You don't waste Beck's time to prepare phony pro-days for Lance and Fields.

And the guy who's admitted to trying to mislead the NFL by putting out altered pre draft stuff says the 49ers are low on Fields. Seems to me like we're going to be taking Fields.

Pretty sure Beck gets paid to do this and it is his job, so I am unsure how this would be wasting his time.

I don't know what you mean. It's not an argument. It's a fact.
