Ahh have you watched him lol? His arm talent is worlds better than Jimmy.

Any of the top prospects have better arm talent than JG imo. Lol, not a super high bar to surpass by any stretch of the imagination. Fields needs a strong performance in the CFB playoff to get the stink off him from the Big 10 championship. Lance will have to have an excellent combine and or pro-day since he didn't get a season to enhance his draft stock.

If Lance doesnt kill it in his interviews, hard pass. Hes had a lot of time to prepare since he wasnt playing. If he does well, I'm willing to take a gamble on him. His upside is too good to pass up. I think wilson and fields will be out of our reach unfortunately

ESPN+ had an article about a month ago that did a summary of each prospect. Many scouts and coaches believe he will excel at the combine and impress during interviews.

Coaches at ND rave about his work ethic and leadership. Question will be if KS invites him for a workout with other QBs?
i'd take trey lance over wilson (who is going to carolina anyways). much higher upside. new and improved mahomes (5 years younger also).

i'd also start him right away or after whatever starter statue we put back there gets injured (prolly by week 3/4). His ability to run and scramble would make the best QB easily over the any other QB on this roster. dumb down shanahan's playbook for the first year (same with jimmy G during his great 5-0 run in 2017).

PS: Media will love him and we'll benefit from mahomes/rodgers/brady/willow roughing the passer calls/pass interference calls in no time. super bowl contenders easily for a more than a decade.

most important thing in NFL these days is a mobile QB (those that can scramble and throw on the run ala josh allen). Lance is perfect for this role. hes got an underdog mentality also.
Where is this kid going to go realistically? 2nd, 3rd?

Early first round.

Lol 2nd 3rd, not even close
This is my favorite QB in this class. He's young and only started 17 games but coming from a pro style offense and playing under center as much as he did... he may be more pro ready than guys with twice the college starts. Make it happen shanalynch!

I wouldn't be so sure about that bro. He easily very well could go there. I'd say top 12 for sure
How many f**king times do we have to reiterate that arm strength alone is not enough??? Its f**king pissing me off.

How many Jim Druckenmillers need to be drafted.
How many Ryan Leafs need to be drafted
How many Sam Darnolds need to be drafted
Who has won the superbowl 6 times? Tom Brady. Not great arm strength
Joe Montana? Not great arm strength
Nick Foles? He won a superbowl, not great arm strength
Peyton Manning when he was throwing the ball into the dirt? Not great arm strength,
How about Russel Wilson? Beautiful accuracy and ball placment. Not great arm strength.

Im f**king sick and tired of people wanting a cannon of an arm. I want touch, accuracy, and smarts. A decent arm to make the throws is needed, but it doesnt need to be a rocket.

Going through that video I didnt see one throw where he went through progressions, or any timing routes. It was backyard football the entire time and there is no way in hell anyone can evauate this guy at the pro level. The majority of his throws were to wide open receiverds.

Its like Kaepernick 2.0. No thanks.

I think Kyle could make lances life easy his first year with all the weapons we have on offense. Bootlegs and play action passes mixed in with the running game.

The kids got talent
If we were to draft Lance in the first, I'm definitely bringing back a healthy Jimmy to have him sit behind year one. There are many gripes about Jimmy but the one thing you can't deny is his record at the helm. Honestly, Jimmy should probably start ahead of any rookie QB we draft not named Lawrence.

And what happens to the rest of the roster when you have no money to resign and upgrade? We'd all love to have Jimmy as a bridge QB but at $27M? f**k no.

I ain't bringing Jimmy back at 27 mil. No doubt he needs to restructure. I feel Jimmy is a reasonable person that will help out the team with regards to his contract.

I mean Jimmy restructuring isn't him doing SF a favor...he still gets his money and actually it guarantees him MORE lol. Dude has next to no gtd cash left and that would create a lot more in 2022, it makes him unmovable.

Helping the team out would be taking a straight up pay cut. I doubt he doesn't that.
