Not really. Most of the fans are already Fields or Lance is fine.
Also -
Great decision making - great footwork - great pocket awareness - natural throwing motion - called plays in huddle and protections @ LOS - bigger arm - work ethic and intelligence thru the roof - only 21 years old at the end of this season = so much room to grow.

Will Jimmy be gone?
https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/04/26/will-jimmy-garoppolo-be-traded-during-the-draft/
There was a big debate on whether any of the two QBs being considered will be ready by the first game and majority of the people in the meeting picked Lance as more likely the QB to be ready by the start of the season.
The reason for this big debate was to find a consensus on whether or not Jimmy is gone by draft day because numerous teams are interested. John and specially Kyle are making sure they could get Trey Lance ready this season, ala RG3 back then.
All of the burden preparing the QB of course will be on Kyle's offensive coaches and all of them are open/ok /exited to the challenge on finally having a QB that has all the tools! For this plan to happen, the running backs this year must be available all year! The boy genius, new OC is already dreaming plays designed for Lance and everyone in the building just can't wait for the draft day!
This year, no tapes on Lance for other teams to study tendencies - "Shock and Awe" ladies and gents. Deception to the max! New wrinkles/schemes/less predictability = More Wins Baby!

The absolutely ONLY reason I believe this "pattern" has become of a thing on these forums is one chart posted form a questionable source which shows him at 43% completion at 20+ yards down the field. The article says that without mentioning that the other "incredibly accurate" downfield QBs are only in the 50s and that the number is based on 43 throws for Lance. Field's entire chart which paints him as incredibly accurate is based on 206 throws, yet no one mentions that part when quoting it and at the same time they'll mention how concerned they are about Lance's limited number throws.
So, doing some napkin math, Lance is "horribly inaccurate" downfield because 4 less passes were completed out of that sample when we're talking about charting, which is subjective.
Dude you can just see the massive improvement in his mechanics (which helps accuracy) over the past 5 or so months. His footwork is on another level from what it was. His release is much more tight.
I'm not worried about his accuracy at all and if all kyle does is scheme dudes open he can hit them....which he did plenty (completed 68%) to some open dudes.
This move would make a ton of sense based on what they've been saying for months. IF he stayed another yr he more than likely would be the #1 pick in the 2022 draft. Why not grab him let him learn, He's only 20.
I'm all for it

I agree I feel like his main two mechanical issues would be cleaning up his footwork, which you could say about literally any prospect in this class and that doesn't mean I think his footwork is bad by any means, and the "bounce" that many scouts have mentioned in his delivery. It's small, but still probably not good for accuracy. This is also stated sometimes as "keeping his eyes level".
I didn't see that bounce in his 2 pro days and his footwork I thought looked really clean.

Long term, that would be way better than Mac to SF. Trey lets us ride with Jimmy, who definitely makes this team a playoff team when healthy. Then when Trey is ready, the team goes to a whole other level. That is, if we take him.

Much less than if they were to pick Jones over Lance.
The fan base's public enemy No.1 is Mac Jones, most are OK as long as they don't pick Mac Jones.

It is all just talk, nobody knows anything but it does line up with us keeping Jimmy. Man I still say he is green, but you cannot deny the raw material. If we are going with Lance I hope Jimmy stays healthy this year and give our coaches a chance to mold this kid. My preference is still Fields but I would rather go Lance than Jones.
