Just got done watching it expecting something to be there based on comments being made but their is literally nothing to gleam except McGlinchey is getting his option picked up and the biggest reason they are moving on from Jimmy is his injuries.

Pretty much the entire presser was non answers or what else are they supposed to say answers.

As far as body language goes I just saw two guys that haven't gotten much if any sleep probably just come out of the film room to do their mandatory press event.
Kyle is not blind, but judging by films alone is never enough, it is why you have scouts and a personnel department. These guys are always away from their families sacrificing time and great efforts to provide the most accurate assessments of players for the leadership and management to have an informed decision.

I hope this is not another AARON RODGERS situation who was giving nightmares to the organization.

EDIT — has the quoted person said it was a mix up? Several sources indeed say Lance is highly intelligent, and film clearly shows Jones moves outstanding in the pocket.

Derrik "Carson Wentz is inferior to Vernon Adams" Klassen. Some of these Twitter gurus take themselves way too seriously.

At the end of the day, smarts can only take you so far. You need skill. You need elite talent to complete the package. To compete at the highest level.

I hope they Draft Trey Lance to take advantage of the "ELEMENT/S OF SURPRISE/S" big and bold, to give other teams sleepless nights this year!

Lance is by all accounts brilliant and has lots of physical talent.

The tweet clearly said JONES was most athletic in the pocket, and that usually means good at finding spaces in the protection to help linemen. It does NOT usually mean the guy is automatically a great athlete.

Klassen is projecting. Until the tweet he quoted says he messed up what he wanted to say, it makes more sense exactly as it was typed. Jones does ONE thing really well, and that's move in the pocket. Lance is apparently extremely intelligent, and that's from SEVERAL sources, and he sure as heck looks very smart in every interview. Very self-aware.

It probably is.

I also think it's telling that Jones' pocket movement — arguably the one thing he does best in this class — can't possibly be great because you hate Jones so much.

I'm saying it sounds like he might have mixed it up.

I don't hate Mac... I certainly don't think he's even remotely close to the QBs being discussed.

That's how I read it as well but Schefter probably should've used a term other than athletic in the pocket since nobody describes someone that moves well in the pocket as being athletic in the pocket.

Should've just said Lance is the smartest and Jones has the best pocket presence.

Well he works for football outsiders...every time we see someone with an opinion everyone loves to poke holes as far as creditably goes...we can do it with Simms, JTO, king, DJ, Rapp, Schefter all the same. funny little circle we got going on here

Some have even highlighted Bill Walsh's mistakes to try to paint the Jones pick in a better light. Apparently everyone sucks at QB evaluation, so no one's opinion is credible.
If recent draft history teaches us anything..........................

Justin Fields could be the Justin Herbert of this year. Questions about his football acumen could push him down even though they both have superior athletic ability.

Trey Lance could be the Josh Allen of this year. Questions about the level of competition and his accuracy could leave this potential all Pro for some team that doesn't just live in the now.

Please God, don't let Lynch and Shanahan screw this up on Thursday.
Didn't know Lance's father spent a couple weeks on the 49ers roster back in 94
