I heard/read jeudy was not close... it was Ruggs/lamb/Aiyuk in some order. Nowhere did I hear it wasn't Ruggs, I think you're wrong there.

I put more weight in certain mocks, allbirght only does one and it's the day before...he's constantly been towards the top at hits.

Take from it what you will...
Kyle kept saying he wants a "starting quarterback". Who has the most experience playing under center? Who was most successful running play action and boots? Who made pre-snap calls and adjustments at the LOS? Who is also big, strong, fast, and has great football IQ?

Sounds like Lance fits the description. I can't imagine Kyle thinks Mac can pick up an under-center play-action offense right away.
Things seem to be swinging Lance way lately.
Allbright has us taking lance. He's a popular guy to post around here so it's interesting.
I'm doing it to myself again . . . getting my hopes up for a QB other than Jones.
I hope the Lance smoke is real.
yes, I have moved on from depression and drinking thinking it is actually Jones, to having hope that Lance will be the pick! 😊

Lance has to be the pick. He's incredibly smart and is incredibly gifted athlete. And you're getting all that at no 3 - ONLY bc he didn't play last year. Had he played last year - I have no doubt he'd be going no 2.
please, please, please not Jones!

This is turning uglier and uglier by the hour. Unless Shanahan is playing mind games, but if Mac Jones really is the pick, all hell will break loose.

Yesterday, I clicked on Ronbo's clip just to have a gauge on what the latest public sentiment is like. Boy, I had no idea there are already so many p*ssed off fans out there especially after Shanny's rather childish comment in the press con that he couldn't guarantee anyone will still be alive on Sunday. But, as far as the Mac Jones pick goes, that is immediately and automatically dead on arrival even before you can finish pronouncing the word "Mac" and long before you get to "Jones". My takeaway is Kyle Shanahan is already wearing thin amongst a good portion of the fan base. As it turns out, people never forgot about the Solomon Thomas pick, missing out on Mahomes, the CJ Beathard pick, the Dante Pettis pick, the Joe Williams pick, etc, etc. Essentially, people think Shanahan is totally impotent when it comes to drafting.

You know what does this current situation of Mac Jones vs Trey Lance feels like? To me, it is beginning to feel like as if we have hopped onto a time machine and travelled back in time to the 2005 draft with Alex Smith vs Aaron Rodgers. And we all know what happened to the 9ers for years to come and of course Mike Nolan himself, the man who was responsible for the Alex Smith pick, don't we?!

The challenge to Shanahan is if he ends up picking Jones, not only does Mac Jones needs to become a true stud to lead the 49ers franchise to winning multiple Super Bowls, but at the same time Shanahan better hopes and prays both Lance or even Fields will bust out. The moment Lance or Fields turns into the next lethal mobile QB, the blowback to Shanahan will be considerable.

What I think keeps getting overlooked is Lance's ability to make a run play look like a pass play and a pass play look like run play. His play fakes are much more convincing than Fields and I think that matters to Kyle. Fields is clearly the more proven accurate thrower at this point but he's older than Lance and his strength in the vertical passing game is not what this current offense is designed for.

That could change and it should if Fields is the pick. I just have this feeling that Lance will be special and Kyle knows it too.

Kind of does feel like we hopped back into a time machine with regards to Jones vs Lance. The thing with Smith vs Rodgers though was we elected to go with the more athletic QB and not the drop back pocket passer. Now, at least according to the media, we are going with the pocket passer in Jones as opposed to the athlete in Lance. Funny how times have changed or have they really?

yep, no way he should take Jones... Lance has the strongest arm, is the best runner, did more at the line of scrimmage than Jones, and may have the highest football IQ, let alone has an awesome personality and character. how can you pass on this kid, and he is only 20 yrs old! think of the upside. I feel he will be a Russell Wilson/ Deshaun Watson level superstar...
