Yup, and to our scouts too. It gives me hope that we really do have a strong structure if we make the right call.

We won't know if it's the right call for probably a few years, no matter who they pick.

Idk. I can make a pretty quick snap judgment. Based on probably half a preseason game

If you're pretty spot on with your judgment. You could work as an NFL scout.
Shanahan, Do the right thing and draft TREY LANCE! He is a diamond in the ruff... He is the next Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen. He is mobile like Patrick Mahomes. He comes from a small school like Josh Allen and has his same arm strength. Please do the right move tomorrow on draft night. You already lost two super bowls with your bad decision making. Don't screw this up as well.... Mac Jones is the next Ryan Leaf. A strong arm but not mobil.... Remember when Bill Walsh told management not to take Aaron Rodgers? They took Alex Smith instead. How did that work out? Do the right thing and draft TREY LANCE.

Just for the record NDSU is FCS (D-1AA) not D2

So they play plenty of players being drafted

Of course not. But if you thought a guy was playing at an inferior level of competition, how dominant would you expect him to be? Maybe win every game? National champion? Throw no INTs vs 42 total touchdowns through an entire year? Well, you'd be in luck,

All of that would be extra impressive if the guy the year before hadn't done the same thing.

Same program without Lance, Jabril Cox and others is 7-2 and in the mix to win another national championship.

My buddy works for ESPN, he messaged me this:

Just did a taping at work. Shefter told SVP that he wouldn't be shocked if Lance goes at 3

He talked with someone for an hour a day or two ago and came away with the impression that (more so than not) Lance will be picked at 3

These guys know who it is but they're not going to tip by order of the Shield as if it's the #1 pick. Daniel Jerimiah presented his last mock tonight and stuck with Jones to the 49ers, but said if it was up to him the pick would be Lance. I think he's catching a wave.

And that guy made it into the NFL too—that's not nothing for an FCS school. Lance isn't my main guy, I'm just saying that if the argument is that he's a big fish in a small pond, he's a REALLY big fish.

and you conveniently ignored the last part, no INTs. Easton Stick didn't do that.

So not even close basically??? Lance won 100% of a 16 game season without him they've won 77% of a 9 game season. Also, the same logic can be put in tua/Mac.

It's the blue blood program of the fcs. They are going to be very good every year. Can't fault Lance for that.

gonna post this again for the non-believers.

Gotta hope Shannahan isn't so stubborn to just do what he wants even though most others in the organization want Lance.

If its not Fields, it better be Lance. I also hope if we trade Jimmy we get Minshew as insurance.

yes, would be all in on Minshew if we have to trade Jimmy, and we get Lance.

Report: Patriots working on a new contract for 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo -- just in case | 49ers Webzone

Hmmm, is this legal? The patriots are openly saying this could be poaching/tampering?

I'll be very offended if they don't complete the process of taking back Jimmy!
