I would never count any of these guys out. You just don't know which one is going too land in a perfect situation with the right coach. Which one is as good as he will ever be and which one will grow. Look at Josh Allen. He's improved tremendously in his 3 years. Then you have other guys that either couldn't make the jump or regressed like Carson Wentz. You just can never be sure.
Come on down Lance!!!
Lance=Kaepernick....
Athletically gifted phenom with a gazelle like stride.
From a smaller program, thus facing less than elite opposition.
Anxious in the pocket, suspect field awareness, stares down receivers (BADLY!this one is enough for me to just say no) , accuracy is all over the place, one read and go.... the list goes on.

This is a hard no in my eyes. With such dire need for interior lineman and secondary help I can't see ShanaLynch jumping on this kid. Let another team suffer the 3 year setback for an FCS athlete. Hell, we could get a similar prospect on day 2 or 3 in Jamie Newman.
This is Lynch's GM career if he drafts Lance

KAP DISCLAIMER! This comment has ZERO to do with anything other than football.

I see him as the guy most likely to not get drafted in the 1st.

I see his stock moving up the most as the draft process goes on...teams will fall in love with the ceiling and top end traits.

Wish they could make some adjustments to the Senior bowl and allow/invite some underclassmen.

Just watching his tape, he has such a great feel of the position. He reminds me of a Taysom Hill who actually knows how to throw much better. Wouldn't mind taking this kid at 12 and letting him sit behind Garappolo.

So..... you'd draft a Taysom Hill comparable at 12 overall?
Besides that, we're not keeping Jimmy then taking a QB in the first.

Lol Taysom hill is a horrible comp (I know you didn't say that).

Dude has Josh Allen upside. I think he actually should sit the first yr. he's not even close to Hill as far as QB play goes. Hill isn't as accurate and his decision making as a passer at BYU was much worse.

He's also not Kap either...just because he's athletic doesn't mean he's a horrible passer.

I would be fine if they restructure Jimmy and draft Lance.

Not trying to start a debate and this question isn't to you specifically but why does all the dual threats either have Mahomes upside or Josh Allen upside but a guy like Jones or Trask (personally not a Trask fan) can't have Drew Brees, Troy Aikman upside?

Why does upside only work for hard throwing fast running QBs? Why can't accurate & cerebral QBs have upside? Serious question

Josh Allen upside? Based on what, his size?
I see nothing in his 17 game sample that resembles that of a Josh Allen.
I also never said his athleticism equates to being a bad passer. I didn't even hint at that notion. No, his game film of consistently staring down and overthrowing receivers is what led me to say that....Among other questionable characteristics.
And once again, 17 game career at an FCS program.12th overall?
C'mon man!!

Why does it have to be a debate on "mobile" QB vs "non mobile" QBs? There's more than that, no? I don't even know what constitutes as "mobile" for some posters?

Because those are the only ones ever considered to have upside

Size, arm talent, mobility, the fact that both played in a pro-style offense vs s**tty competition.

What bases do you have for Kap or Hill? His game film actually doesn't consist of just starting down receivers. I saw plenty of moving safeties with his eyes to make throws (I posted a film breakdown earlier). lol I can toss out clips of all these guys over throwing receivers, I can't show clips of all these prospects making some of the throws this kid makes.

So if he played 8-10 more games this yr he's gonna magically be a top 5 pick? Josh Allen played in 9 more games than him lol. Mahomes had what a season worth of more games in some s**tty spread offense that doesn't help him develop at all at the next level.

And what questionable characteristics? Are you talking about leadership and being "the guy"? Because everything I've read is that he's a leader, is all football, has a chip on his shoulder for not getting a big time scholarship (like Allen) etc. I have no idea what you're talking about there.

Sure he's not a finished product, if he was there would be ZERO chance he makes it to 12. He's been working all off season on tightening up his throwing motion and it looks pretty damn good.

I have no doubt that Kyle would get the absolute most out of this kid.

What do you consider "mobile" that's the question. Upside is more than mobility IMO
