It lacks context all the same, kid had no idea if they were playing a game...he couldn't practice for 2 weeks and just showed up lol and the only reason he did was because a lot of teammates were on half scholarships and needed to play.

it's like the northwestern game for Fields never mind he didn't have 22 of his players because of Covid.

That's not a good excuse. UCA is tipping blitz before the snap, so he should know he's going to his hot. But he immediately looks left at the snap when his hot is on his right. Is he trying to look off the blitz? There's no excuse for this. This is Jimmy G-esque.

Who cares it was a single game they were playing for the scholarship guys where he had to quarantine for 10 days and couldn't practice because his roomie got COVID.

I just dont buy this about Fields. I know folks are saying it. He been a top QB prospect for years now. Now all of a sudden he doesnt see the field. Sounds kinda crazy to me personally. Ive also watched breakdowns showing Lance has awful accuracy. Bad mechanics etc. None of these kids are perfect and to me Fields has looked the best. Even in matchups with Lawrence, its been Fields that shined. So im just puzzled and i think over analyzing has happened. Cuz Lance and definitely not Mac should get drafted higher than Fields based on their college careers.

I really liked the way it was described in this video, if you're interested. I know it's not from a highly viewed source, but I find his breakdowns very detailed and interesting if nothing else.

Thanks. Aboout to checkout this vid

This was a good listen. He wasnt slamming Fields just giving a very non emotional unbiased opinion with the caveat that his vision issues can be worked around. Something to think about for sure. The word has been that Lance is even more raw and would need even more time to develop. Decisions decisions.

That game would have been the NFL equivalent to the 1st preseason scrimmage. I remember Garoppolo throwing 5 straight picks in one preseason scrimmage....It's not nothing but I wouldn't read too much into it.

I care because I'm not emotional about this process like many people are. I'm not going to bury red flags because I like a prospect, or sensationalize a bad play because I dislike a guy. I try to remain objective and call a spade, a spade. The poster made a stupid statement about Trey's processor, and I had to call him out on it.

I've posted countless plays highlighting Trey's strengths. It goes both ways.

This is hilariously wrong. Trey's processor is one of his biggest concerns. We discussed it way back in the thread. He has too many instances on tape where he doesn't see the field well.

Why do we keep bringing up a glorified scrimmage? Lance couldn't even practice for over a week because his roommate had Covid.

IMO this kid is more prepared to play in the NFL then Allen was coming out.

Yep. And like a genius to boot

Allen had a lot of mechanical issues and his deep ball was horribly innacurate when he started as a rookie. Good for him the team had patience and really good coaches, now he is an elite QB. Trey Lance can do the same, but the fanbase will have to be patient.

But did he play tennis with his family as a kid?

I always said that his feets are tremendous, especielly for his size...If he wants to work, learn and progress...
I am very excited by the kid, even if i prefer Fields right now.

Damn Kyle and John might have to strap up if they pick Mac Jones.

Not only for their own fanbase, but gamblers as well, lol.
Lance takes the lead on draft day! 🧐
Cover your bases: $200 on Lance, $100 each on Fields and Jones
It's reported that he's had a lot of work done to his mechanics since he's played last so it's tough to completely evaluate him from his 2019 tape because a lot of his accuracy issues could be mostly fixed by the time the season starts.

I know the 9ers and Shanahan won't select him if his accuracy is the same as it is on his 2019 tape. If he's the pick it'll be because they feel it's an issue that can be fixed with improved mechanics.
