I don't think Rogers gets traded tonight. So, draft Lance at #3, figure out a way to trade for Rogers after June 1 when his cap hit goes down, let Lance sit behind Rogers next 3-4 years. Dynasty.

I am having a mini panic attack. I watched Trey Lance's performance against Central Arkansas in full. He looked horrible. I cannot believe all of the hype on this guy. Kaepernick 2.0. I get the people who are not enthused with Mac Jones because he just looks ordinary, but for the love of God, if we're going athletic, please just grab Justin Fields. I have a really bad feeling Lance is going to be WAY out of his depth in the NFL. Offense will lose all continuity. Just take Jones or Fields. At least they played big boy college football in high pressure games.

Lance won't be sitting for 3-4 years. It'll be 1 at most.

Debatable. Lance did not throw a single INT, threw for more TDs, ran for more yards, and had a higher completion percentage. And even if that is not a fair comparison. A far better comparison would be Stick in 2015 as a redshirt freshman VS Lance at 19 as a true sophomore. I can save you the trouble, Lance blows him out of the water, and it's not even close. You're grasping for straws.
Doesn't fit the narrative. Inadmissible.

I know it's unlikely we get both, but are you saying if we did, Lance would beat out Rogers after 1 year?

Talk a Xanax and chill. He had to quarantine for 10 days before the game and couldn't practice because his roommate got COVID.
Even so that game isn't that bad. There's some good throws to the sidelines where you can really see his arm strength and unless you watched the whole tape you missed a beautiful deep ball that his receiver dropped toward the end. Oh and he ran for like 150 yards displaying both speed and agility. And he had 4 total TDs. And they won the game.

Can you define better? 16-0 seems hard to beat...
Oh and winning the Jerry Rice award and the Walter Payton while doing it...
PPG, the point of an offense. And they were undefeated as well.

Any time you complete 50% of your passes in a division 2 game, and going to be a top pick, it's bad. Those rushing yards will not be there in the NFL

No, that game was plenty bad. It was laughably bad when you comparative with all the "unlimited upside" nonsense people are throwing around. If he didn't run wild, which he either won't be able to do in the NFL, or will get killed trying, his game was complete dog s**t, Covid or not. A pick of Lance is WAY more risky than a pick of Fields or Jones.

It's Division 1AA, and any time you have literally mostly 1st round picks around you, you might look WAY better than you are if Jones is your guy. If it's Fields, WTF is 12-27 for 114 yards and 2 INTs versus Northwestern?

Smh why the hell would you take a qb at 3 and sit him for 3-4 years and not take a guy that can help you now? The Rodgers Favre thing was different since Rodgers dropped to 24 completely different from 3. You take Pitts at 3 if you get Rodgers and don't have to trade 3 for some miracle reason
