Yes because all you've watched is highlights
Bro where you at?!? Virtual high five and hug!!!
LFG!!!
I'm here. I'll stand by it. But I'm also not here to rain on the parade. He's clearly a popular pick. I would have taken one of the other two. I think he's a runner first, and an inconsistent passer. I think it's a heck of a lot easier to cut through defenses running at North Dakota State than in the NFL. He'll ultimately need to be a good consistent passer. I saw better options in that category. I view the QB position as primarily about passing, but maybe I'm a dinosaur. The new brand of ball is that you just have to be an OK passer so long as you can force the defense to account for running. But ultimately, running doesn't work over the long haul. They get hurt. So, that's my concern and I'm not backing off it, but congrats, sincerely, to everyone who is so pumped over the pick. I hope he wins us a Super Bowl and Kyle coaches him up well.

Shanny said he was the guy from the day they made the trade and that they never cared about all the Jones talk or cared to clear it up.
He's playing chess... You know the rest.

He's a passer. You won't know that from the highlights -- you have to watch his full games. When he was asked to pass, he was fearless in the pocket, got through his progressions, and drove the ball to every part of the field with ease. Everything you'd want in a QB.

Lance may end up being a good QB but how can you mortgage your future and alienate a very good QB to draft a kid who threw less thy 400 college passes against very, very low level competition.
75% chance this kid is the next Akili Smith
Lol how do you figure it's a 75% chance?
Well most QB's struggle with the transition to the NFL- so it's 50%-50% for everyone in this draft aside form Lawrence. When you factor in that Lance has very little experience and will be jumping from the lowest level of D1 football to the NFL- chance for success are not high.
One other thing nobody mentions is that North Dakota State is the Alabama of the MVFC. Meaning, his college experience is not only against very low level competition, but he also has the benefit of playing with superior talent.
I really hope I'm wrong but I absolutely hate what the Niners did here. Taking Lance at 12- sure, but you can't mortgage your future for a guy with so many question marks

Lol,...how many posts did I say we're not drafting Mac Jones @ #3 after giving up so much value?
Just saying,....it'd be nice to rely a little on logic instead who's tenured and who's not tenured, who makes vids, et. al.
Sorry for interrupting. Carry on.

No, I watched his full game from last year precisely because I didn't want to just see highlight runs. That's was a poor performance passing. No glossing over it. Then I watched his first pro day and he was a little inaccurate there too. I think it is what it is. He is a credible passer. He makes some good throws. He has a strong arm. He has enough throwing talent that when he drops back you have to defend the potential of him driving good throws accurately anywhere on the field and also account for his clear gift for running. I get where he could break a defenses back. But his best skill set on tape, imo, is his running and that won't come easy in the NFL, there is injury potential, and teams will try to box him up and force him to pass. Kyle is very good at scheming guys open, so maybe he doesn't need to do everything perfect to be a championship level QB. I think that is the new NFL thinking and this will be a modern offense. I hope he totally succeeds. Seems like a good kid who was moved to tears on being picked. Go Niners.

Totally disagree.....Lance has an incredible work ethic, is extremely bright, is humble, already reads defenses, and will absolutely work on all of his perceived weaknesses. I think the one quality that sets him apart from other QBs in this draft is his ability to escape the rush. I watched a good amount of his highlight film and the guy is like Russell Wilson in that regard.
Oh and.....he is also way more talented than Akili Smith. You can hate on him all you want and it may take him a year or two, but IMHO, this kid has "success" written all over him.
Cheers!

That's fair! Excited to see how he develops.
