Stoked to have Trey! Unexpected, was prepared to be bummed about drafting Jones. I don't know how good he'll be, but I really like this kid, and it will be fun to watch his growth.

Supposedly the Falcons would have taken him at 4. They had eyes for him for a long time which is why we had to get to 3
ATL and Denver loved him reportedly
Carolina too.
I am concerned about if Lance will be next Kap?!

Can you send me that so I can source it when sending it? Because I had heard him and Jones were scratched off their list. But apparently fields was too.

Still hoping we trade Jimmy - don't like the fact that if Jimmy starts, Lance will have played one game in two years.

I heard it on one of the sports talk shows. Mightve been Cowherd.

Its not your job to worry about that bro so relax. Especially when the only reason you're saying that is because he physically resembles him.

I hope they take their time with him and make sure he's absolutely ready. Only one game in the last 15 months and espn just showed that he's had the fewest snaps in college of any top 5 pick at QB in the last 40 years. Kid has all the talent in the world however and could end up top 3 in the NFL one day.

Just because he is not starting doesn't mean he is just sitting there with his legs up drinking beer.
The guy will be busy learning Shanny's system and playing on the scout team every week mimicking Russell Wilson, Kyler Murray, Josh Allen, etc.

Yeah, I know - he'll still be learning, your right.

First, he needs to learn NFL defenses, then Kyle's offense, then see what Kyle see on game day!

Def a big risk and I know you loved Jones, but admit Lance could be top 3.... why? Because we both believe Kyle can coach him up to that potential. Let's goooo

Shanahan and Lynch were just speaking to SVP on SportsCenter, and Lynch said that Kyle called him on a Sunday night in January and told Lynch that he loves Lance.

Lance may end up being a good QB but how can you mortgage your future and alienate a very good QB to draft a kid who threw less thy 400 college passes against very, very low level competition.
75% chance this kid is the next Akili Smith
Totally disagree.....Lance has an incredible work ethic, is extremely bright, is humble, already reads defenses, and will absolutely work on all of his perceived weaknesses. I think the one quality that sets him apart from other QBs in this draft is his ability to escape the rush. I watched a good amount of his highlight film and the guy is like Russell Wilson in that regard.
Oh and.....he is also way more talented than Akili Smith. You can hate on him all you want and it may take him a year or two, but IMHO, this kid has "success" written all over him.
Cheers!
How can you tell?
Dude has only completed 192 passes his entire college career.
Ill never understand the trade up for this guy.
For all of the reasons that I mentioned. Yes, he is inexperienced but he played the same number of college games as did Mac Jones... In the NFL, the guys that succeed are the ones that love the game, work the hardest (especially on their shortcomings) and....have great talent. Lance has all 3 of those qualities. He is also part of an organization that has a great coaching staff and very good team culture than Lynch and Shanny have built. Of course there are no guarantees but from my perspective, this guy has as much chance to succeed as any QB in this draft. Just sayin'
Cheers!
