Same boat as Josh Allen in Wyoming. That's why I keep referencing him. I actually think Lance is more accurate than him coming out of college. He's more accurate than Jackson coming out of college.

It's all about traits for him. Looks like he's being tighten up his throwing motion this off season...similar to what Allen did this off season.

So now Lance is Josh Allen?

Other teams could easily and roll the dice early

Obviously, but anyone following the Parcells' method won't be interested.

He'll be dinged due to, level of competition, not playing this year and no combine would hurt him more than most.

Anyone who is desperate for a starter next year would probably go for one of the others. Plus you have the veteran market.

I think this kid is a top 5 talent, but I can easily see him falling.

I mean it's not like I'm throwing out the GOAT or anything

And who's left out there rolling with the old man Parcells' mantra? It's 2021 the NFL is different, there aren't many old crotchety guys like Parcells left lol. FWIW Mac Jones wouldn't even fit into his rules for a QB lol.

True, Gettleman certainly does. Loads of teams above us have yet to hire a GM so who knows. Heck we don't even know whether or not we do!

I think CJ, Jimmy and Nick would all fit his criteria!

I must say I'm surprised at how slow this thread is, you guys need to take a look.

I finished my deep dive on his only start this year, but lost my write up.

Start of the 2nd half he was still shaky, missed a few intermediate throws including a poor 3rd down crosser where he was slightly late and behind the WR.

Then came his only ever college interception, Playaction back to defense ala Kyle, great footwork sees his TE streaming up the seam lets it go on a rope, doesn't see the safety and it's picked.

They then dialled him back and gave him some quick throws, he got in rhythm and led a really nice drive including some wow throws (the best of which was dropped).

He was then turned loose as a runner, he would immediately become the 3rd best running QB in the league. Really nice speed and feet, and runs with power (not that you want that in the NFL). Runs like a faster Cam Newton.

Conclusion, this was a strange game as it was obvious it was all about trying to raise Lance's stock due to Covid, they went away from what they did last year and it looked like he was pressing.

As others have said he isn't ready to play at a high level in our system next year (could any rookie?) I think he could run a watered down version in a pinch, run a lot and have success.
People say he is like Josh Allen, and needs development because he got a rocket arm.

I am a little worried that he may end up being like a Drew Lock type of guy. A lot of guys are like Elway on this forum now. They want that big upside guy with all the physical tools . I get it though

I'd still take him in the 2nd round if he is there, and we don't get a QB in the 1st. But I am thinking that the fans will need to exercise a lot of patience for him to develop. 2 to 3 years maybe.

Hopefully he is smart enough on the white board too, otherwise Kyle will probably not have patience for that either.
Development time shouldn't matter as long as he develops into a good player.

I don't think there's any comparison with Lance an Allen as college players. Josh was way more scatter gun and his footwork was nowhere near as good.

Obviously they're both toolsy, with big arms and running ability, and played lower level competition, things is Allen's team were similar to his competition, where Lance's are superior.

I see no comparison to Drew Lock.

Lance's knock is that he just doesn't have the reps to give a great sample size, but to be honest what's the point of seeing more throws at the level he played at? It's only to make you feel better.

Really wish he played this season. Love the athleticism and I think Shanahan could come up with some crazy good packages and runs plays with him. Arm is pretty good too. That wind up is a little concerning though. Need to watch more of him. Watched only 3 games of his so far

What are the other top QBs under pressure?

EVEN this video of him is awful.. look at how long he looked at his initial target, and once the time clock in his head expired he started to run.. only to find a WIDE OPEN receiver..

this can not be used to grade this kid, we need to find film where he made a good read, stood and delivered...

this will not happen in the NFL..

I can imagine teams like Pittsburgh or Colts drafting him LATE in the 1st, but teams who are trying to WIN now, should not roll the dice on this guy very early..

He definitely did that, just chuck in Trey Lance vs and you get every throw and run in a game, not as good as watching the whole thing, but you get the gist very quickly.

That's fair, I saw a good video on his footwork, it's mostly awesome teaching tape, the wind up comes from sinking his back leg, the QB guy thinks it's easily correctable by sitting on the back leg before starting his motion (which is very tight and quick afterwards).

To be honest if we saw him play more he probably wouldn't be available.

He'll go later than some think. Much later.

Heard it here 1st!
