Yeah, I remember hearing this exact line back in 2014 with Harbaugh.

Harbs turned down an extension twice. Shanny just signed his.

I do think they need to get the future QB spot right. This is the draft to do it. Let's grow a sack and go get Wilson

I could see Lance there at 12 and I think he wood be a good long term fit. He has all the physical tools. Hell I'd argue he may be the most gifted of the bunch. For a Lance tho I think he should definitely sit a year.

They do, but they shouldn't force it. And they won't. We all know Kyle is super picky.

This. If you really love a guy and believe that he is your guy in every way, go for it. But otherwise, don't get desperate. Teams that get desperate over drafting a QB invariably tend to pick the wrong one.

If super picky means the CJ Beathards of the draft then sign me up for desperately forcing it for Zach Wilson

Lol right. We gotta have the 1st pick in the draft to actually take a meaningful QB

I'm not saying be desperate, I'm saying if they love Wilson/fields go get them. Don't let Jimmy G be the reason you can't upgrade. Don't be scared to give up future what if picks.

Oh if he's there at 12 they should run to the phone and call it in...I don't think he will be there. I will be shocked if he makes it past Carolina.

I would be too....and therefore, I would trade up to get him. Every draft pick has questions....every..single..one. This guy's biggest question is his experience or lack thereof. He probably has more raw tools than any other QB in this draft. Get heeeeem!....and then just sit him for a year, rinse and repeat and viola....you have a stud for 10 years. Cool?

I can get down with this.

I'd cream my pants if we landed Lance.

Bruh this mock draft is infuriating. Jamarr Chase not being the first receiver taken is strike one. The Bengals passing up two legit tackles for a TE is strike 2. And Justin Fields falling to 15 is Lance you're a f**king stupid f**king moron

This. Cincy passing up an elite franchise left tackle prospect after their rookie QB got absolutely destroyed doesn't make any sense.
Just a reminder...one of the qualities that sold Bill Walsh on Joe Montana was his footwork. This is a very important quality for a QB and one that is highly underrated IMHO. When a QB doesn't reach his potential (such as Kaepernick for example), it is often because this skill is not developed.

This is one of the reasons I like Lance so much. He has got all the tools (arm, athleticism, leadership ability, and footwork). Yes, he is inexperienced so you sit him for a year or two to assimilate Kyle's offense and then you have a stud. This would be my ideal number one pick. Trade up if you have to but get this kid.

Cheers!
Meh, the thing that saddens me most about that mock draft is Newsome going in the first ):
According to Jack Hammer, Lance has trouble throwing to a wr when there's someone in his line of sight between him and that WR. He also appears to decide where he's going with the ball presnap and then just tries to take off if it's not there.

He also has a stiff lower body when throwing, leading to erratic deep accuracy.

The little I've watched of him suggests Mr Hammer is right.

No way do I pick a mobile Jimmy at 12.
